Your welcome, glad I could help :) hmm well you have thought so it's certainly weird it's not coming up on the code reader. If you've checked the wiring im Wondering if it's the airbag switch. But it sounds like a trip to the dealer is a must. As the car will fail it's MOT with an airbag warning light on. Keep us posted :) Cheers Steve

Welcome to the forum Mile :) you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) in terms of making the car louder you can't go wrong with a full cat back stainless steel exhaust. I know you'll pay a lot more but it'll be worth it! Also an aftermarket induction kit will help improve the noise somewhat as well :) cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Stuart! Your making a good choice with the a6 model you have selected as it is the best bar far. Excluding the s6 or rs6. The Le Mans has lowered suspension (more so than the s line) and has electric everything including auto closing boot and reversing camera :) in terms of faults the common one is the intake manifold swirl flaps failing. Now a replacement intake manifold will cost you around £500 but you can buy repair kits which cost around £80. youll be able to tell if this has been done by the service history. If the car has Audi service history then you can ring them to see what has been done. Ideally contact the dealer who has done the servicing. Also make sure all electrical items work as they should as fixing electrical parts can get costly. I would also recommend you seeing if you can get an AA or RAC inspection carried out on the vehicle. The seller is reluctant or refuses for you to have one done then I would walk away as they or the car has something to hide. Also make sure there are no warning lights on the dash such as the engine management light. As this could be caused by a clogged dpf filter. The dpf filter was fitted to 3.0tdi a6 models 2008 onwards. The filter gets clogged due to too many short journeys and it means the filter can not burn off the particulates which occurs on longer journeys. As such it becomes more and more clogged until it breaks and at which point it can cost you over £1000 to replace the dpf. The other reason why the engine management light could be on is due to a faulty egr/egr which again is another £1000+ job to fix. With regard to the gearbox make sure the gear changes are smooth and that there's no jerkiness or hesitation. Make sure the changes are smooth with the paddles/manual mode too. As obviously any repairs will be costly! Just to make you aware performance Audi ran a buyers guide on the 3.0tdi Le Mans in their last issue :) If the car has good service history and drives well then you'll be getting a very nice car indeed abd one of the nicer Audi models on the second hand market :) hope iv helped :) cheers Steve

Your welcome! :) give us a shout if your out my way. I live in syston :) let me know how you get on as il give you my auto electricians details. I'm away at the moment so don't have the details to hand. But I used him last week to wire up some fog lights and spot lights to my old Ford escort. He had to make up a new wiring loom! The guy previously worked in the RAF as an electrician on planes. So he is good and he fully tests the systems once he has fixed or installed them! Now that is a good shout! ;) you can't beat a proper pork pie! ;) cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Paul :) nice to see another member from Leicester! :) you have chosen a lovely car and have brilliant mileage on it! The a8 is a gorgeous car! :) sorry to hear your having issues but I do know of a very good auto electrician in Melton Mowbray who I'd recommend if your chap is unable to fix the faults. Im unsure what could be causing the steering/engine issue as I believe the a8 had hydraulic steering. The window could be a faulty window motor or I would say more likely the switch is at fault. This would bbe the same for the wipers I suspect. Hope iv helped :) cheets steve

Loom jealous! I'd love the nose sound system! I suspect you'll have to flick through the serttings. I.e. As if you were flicking to fm, am or cd on the stereo. Sorry if that sounds stupid or obvious. Mph and iv moved this topic to the electronics section to make it easier for members to find :) Cheers steve

Your welcome :) Now that is true! Sorry to hear your single again though! But I can imagine the conversation went "it's either me or the cars?!" Mans i can guess the cars won!

Welcome to the forum Peter :) I would have to agree with Gareth on this one. Vag cars are normally now on long life servicing and as such require a service ever 20k or 2 years. As such I would wait until the car says it requires a service. Cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Rob :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) is your a3 a manual or auto? Abd who is ther service history with? I ask this because if Audi have serviced it then you can ring them and find out. Ideally ring the dealer who's worked on the car :) I myself have never heard of a maintenance free gearbox, but I'm sure the more experienced members will be able to help there. Cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Paul :) sorry to hear your having issues. Without sounding stupid does the hub have a multiple holes. I.e. More than 5? If so you've probably lined the wheel up with the wrong holes. As all the holes are not evenly spaced. I assume Audi do this so various wheels can be fitted to one hub. If that makes sense? I know this might sound like a stupid suggestion but iv done this with my a6 before, that's how I know it can be done. I spent 30mins lining the wheel up to the wrong holes! Hope iv helped. Cheers steve

Welcome to the forum David :) sorry to hear your Audi hasn't come with the parcel shelf. Hope your son is pleased with his Audi! :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) the s3 one should fit but I'm unsure about the 5 door one to be honest. Cheers steve

Hmm in which case if it were me I'd change them all. What some owners are doing is having their engine ecu remapped to removed the ea189 and to improve the drivability of their Audis :) might be worth you looking into in the future :) iv worked in a Volkswagen service department and from what iv seen I would not have the update done. I saw cars with dpf issues, egr/egr cooler issues and one car died. To be honest Edd im not sure which set up you have. Sorry. But I assume your garage must have a minimum labour time/rate? Cheers steve

Your welcome :) i believe the c7 has a different box :) i also believe the 2.0tdi is one of the engines that consumes oil. My dad as a 66 plate Passat with the 2.0tdi engine and it likes to consume oil. Just to make you aware :) cheers steve

Welcome to the forum:) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) with regard to the c6 auto boxes it's the cvt ones you have to watch. I also believe the c7 Diesel engines use more oil than the older a6 engines. Cheers steve
