Welcome to the forum Martyn :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) nice looking a3 by the way :) first thing I'd do is check your warranty paperwork as I wouldn't be surprised if the warranty is a separate company. If so your best bet is to check the list you would have been given to see if airbags or electrics are covered. If it is through the garage then I'd take it back to them. With regard to the airbag light it could be a simple case of a loose wire or even a faulty passenger airbag switch in which case it wouldn't be expensive to fix. Obviously if it were an airbag then this will be an expensive repair. But also I'd be checking the car for any previous accident damage. Hope iv helped :) cheers steve

Hey Ed, sorry to hear you had the update done. With regard to the glowplugs, when were they last changed? If they weren't changed recently my thoughts would be to change all 4. Especially if the garage are going to charge you the same labour time. Hope iv helped :) Cheers steve :)

Hello Justin :) im not surprised you love your q7, they are awesome! Im wondering if the creeking could be the ball joints or suspension bushes? Cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Robert :) sorry to hear your having issues. What Audi and Piotr have said is all true. The dpf filter clogs up with soot and particulates from short journeys and is only burned off once the engine and exhaust get really hot. We have dpf filters thanks to the stricter and stricter emissions rules and regs. E never had this issue 15 years ago! I am surprised Audi did not tell you about the dpf and how a diesel is not best suited for short driving. I know when worked in car sales I mentioned it to customers so they were aware. They should have recommended a petrol for you! If the fan is permanently on and as you've had that message it might be worth you taking the car to Audi for them to look at it. Bare in mind though they may not want to cover the cost of the dpf is broken due to it becoming too clogged. The dpf is not cheap to fix and they'll try and replace it which will cost £1000 or more I'd say. Hope iv helped cheers steve

This trip sounds awesome Chris! Nice to see your keeping the Audi 90 and getting it back on n the road! :) if your like me you can get sentimental with cars. The only downside is that it gets very expensive! Feel free to share some pics of your 90, I'm sure members would love to see it! Also Once you have got it back on the road, feel free to come and attend events with us! Would be great to have your 90 on our club stand! :) cheers steve

Welcome to the forum James :) sorry to hear your having issues, but you'll find members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) your right compressors sent cheap! For my old a6 the repair would be around £1000! The only other thing that could be wrong is that the heater panel is stuck on warm despite you turning the knob to cold if that makes sense. Cheers steve

Listening to the other ones is a good idea! The system should be the same or very similar :) cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Craig :) sory to hear your having issues. But you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) i personally am not aware of driveshaft issues on the a3 but on the same token it abounds like the car is engaging gears. Have you tried it in manual mode? Cheers steve

Well it should be good as it's low mileage and bought from a main dealer! 🤔 Im not sure about the backlash to be honest as iv not had much experience with the Quattro system. Sorry. With regard to the car resisting reverse this could either be the gear synchromesh not connecting properly or the gear linkages. My mum had a similar issue with her merc at 7k miles and they had to replace the synchromesh due to a design fault. In our case we kept pestering Mercedes to look at it and in the end they found the fault. If I were you I'd do the same with Audi. Hope iv helped :) cheers steve

Hi Steve, i don't have any experience of Celtic tuning but what I can say about tuning companies that remap cars is that they will first drive your car to see how it performs and feels and will tailor the map to your car accordingly. They may also put it on a rolling road. Therefore keeping it within tolerances. They do this as an sq5 that's done 1000 miles will perform slightly differently to one that's covered 70,000. Hence why they tweak the map accordingly. hope iv helped :) cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Nick :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) i have to say it does look good on paper. Good miles, good spec and full Audi history. This is good as you can ring Audi to check to see what it has had done :) oh and having the fuel mass flywheel isn't cheap I can assure you! As with anything you'll only know what it's like when you drive it. If you do go and view and drive it, ask the seller if he would be happy for you to have an AA or RAC inspection to be carried out. If he is reluctant or refuses then you have to wonder what he has to hide! I would suspect the cambelt has been changed by now due to age rather than mileage but it's worth checking to see if Audi have this on their system. Also when driving check to make sure the gears change smoothly. But obviously he has already changed one of the expensive parts-the fuel mass flywheel. But make sure you see proof of this. Also make sure all electronic items work as they should as some of them can be costly to replace or repair. For what it's worth it does look in good condition but obviously don't always take it on face value. Hope iv helped and hope iv not told you how to suck eggs! Cheers steve :)

Hey joe, good choice of horn! My old Ford escort has the Ford optional extra duel tone horns fitted! ;) if your a3 is like the previous model a3 and the model after yours, then you should find the horns (low tone and high tone) either behind the driver or passenger side fog light cover :) couple of pics for reference on other a3 models. Couldn't find any pics for your model though. Sorry. cheers steve

Welcome to the forum Brian :) youll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch :) iv also moved this topic to the Audi a1 section to make it clearer for other members :) whats the mileage of your s1 and when was the Quattro system last serviced? Also the Quattro system can be sensitive and prone to wear if the tyres are of uneven tread and pressures. What condition are your tyres? Cheers steve

No worries :) if it's been done at s private garage the service won't be on he Audi system. Dont worry, there's no such thing as a stupid question :)

Your most welcome :) Is it a 1 owner car from new? If so, chances are it's been serviced at the main dealer who supplied the car in the first place. They would be my first port of call :)
