  1. I'd say it's definitely a faulty sensor. I'm suspecting your q8 is still under warranty so this should be covered.
  2. Yea do the dmf shouldn't be failing. The only thing I wondering if there's too much torque ect for the current dmf and clutch. What was the max the current one can take, from the research you've done?
  3. Think the cheapest option would be to replace them with second hand units from eBay or similar.
  4. Well done for saving this S3. I'd recommend you looking at eBay for the catches. Any A3 8l ones should fit.
  5. Lovely looking car. Did you have any look at getting an A4 b5 in the end?
  6. Glad you got sorted 🙂
  7. What miles has the car done? How much bhp and torque has the car now got. I ask as the MSP might be putting too much power through it.
  8. Glad you're pleased with the map, was it done in a rolling road? Yep additives can help. Black smoke could be because of the dog maybe?
  9. Actuators are a known fault on this engine I'd definitely be getting those changed.
  10. Please keep us posted on how you get on 🙂
  11. You're welcome, I personally think it doesn't exist as I've never come across it in my time of researching A6 c5 accessories. Please keep me posted though on how you get on because if it does exist then I'd like to fit it to my A6 for my daughter.
  12. I'd recommend you watch buyers guides on YouTube. If it's the 3.0tdi is reliable as a general rule.
  13. Is it near the maf sensor?
  14. Looks great! Especially with the club sticker 😉 Looks great!
  15. Good on ya for saving it. Please keep us posted on how you get on. Feel free to do a build thread on the 8L section.
  16. You're welcome 🙂 good point I'd forgotten the inset was on one side. A crazy thought, have you considered ordering the c6 or c7 version to see if it'll fit the c5. Certain parts sometimes don't change.
  17. Glad you've got isofix 🙂 I've never seen a top tether for a c5. It's definitely not listed in any of the accessory brochures I have which include 1997 (for 98 model year), 2001 and 2002. However if it does exist, and assuming you have an Avant I'd guess the tether would be attached to a bar that would slide clip behind the seat backs where the dog guard would go.bif that makes sense.
  18. It could either be the level sensor or a fault with the instrument cluster. The latter could be more expensive
  19. I'm wondering if it's the amp that's at fault.
  20. No probs at all 🙂
  21. If it's being mapped out then this will stop it working so you shouldn't need to blank it. Bare in mind if you do blank it, then it would be an MOT failure if an eagle eyed MOT tester noticed. Make sure the remap is done properly in a rolling road so that it's tailored to your car.
  22. No probs.
  23. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up but I'd better the antenna has gone faulty
  24. I'd recommend you take the head off to inspect the internals in my opinion
  25. If auto even was the gearbox last serviced? Is the selector eliminated? It could be the gearbox module. I'd also recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up
