  1. Check service history for proof of gearbox oil services etc and make sure all electrical items work. Check YouTube videos for buyers guides
  2. The fan doing this could be part of the dpf regen. I'd recommend you get a second opinion
  3. White smoke could be a sign of a failing head gasket. Is it using coolant? Or an issue with the egr
  4. Have you had the heater matrix checked? Is the car engine temperature staying consistently at 90 degrees?
  5. Hello David they cannot be switched off as they're part of the cars safety systems. If it were possible doing so would invalidate your insurance
  6. It's electrics that are the biggest problem and parts availability. Make sure all electrical items work on any car you look at and air con, as compressors can be expensive to change. Make sure service history is good and there's proof of cambelt and water pump changes and if an auto make sure there's proof of gearbox oil changes. Make sure heater is working and air is consistent from all vents because of it's not it could be heater matrix which isn't a cheap job either.
  7. Keep us posted on how you get on
  8. The Q5 will have similar servicing intervals.
  9. They control windows too. You need a replacement ccm with the exact same part number. Might be worth to see if yours can be dried out.
  10. I'd definitely consider a maf sensor.
  11. It'll need a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up
  12. Very nice 👍 🙂
  13. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  14. Could it be an issue with the power steering pump I wonder?
  15. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Could be an issue with the maf sensor or injector seals.
  16. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up Sometimes as pipes ages they can leak around the ends where they attach to components. As boost pressure builds, air escapes but once there's no boost the pipe seal goes back to normal if that makes sense
  17. Could definitely be the chain. Usually jap imports are well maintained due to the strict MOT regulations there. Wiring and computer systems can be slightly different. The other thing you'll have is understanding the service history as till all be in Japanese so you're relying on the dealer to be honest about the history.
  18. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up.
  19. So glad you got sorted 🙂
  20. Sounds like an issue with the instrument cluster and the imobiliser built within it. My advice is to get the cluster tested and repaired
