Following on from this cliff, I'd noticed the dehumidifier had slipped slightly and wasn't sitting upright. Which has ultimate got the rest seat wet 🤦‍♂️ I've moved it to the floor so it's fully upright. So we'll see if that makes any difference

Well said Steve, cars are far too expensive now and people don't want to spend their money on something they fear the government will outlaw (diesel). People are keeping cars longer. And I believe the only way we will be able to have diesel and petrol cars in the future are classics which aren't so dependent on computers and can be fixed easier and parts availability is plentiful. Such as Land rover defenders, mercedes w123, mercedes w124 etc. For my next daily I'm genuinely considering a tax exempt vehicle like a land rover 110 I can modernise with later defender bits such as heated seats, windscreen etc, galvanized chassis etc. That way I can run a tax exempt vehicle but has some mod cons to keep the wife happy. You can still get bits for mercedes w123 from main dealers despite them going out of production in 1985. Let's also not forget, the European manufacturers and governments are scared on Chinese electric cars as they are cheaper and potentially better quality. This is why the Chinese are getting fines I believe when they try to sell them in Europe. As well as the problem of not having the infrastructure for everyone to have an electric car. But either way I believe long term government plans are to have us all out of cars. The maniacs are definitely running things and I fear we're heading towards regimes similar to that seen during WW2 in Germany, Italy or later in the USSR.

Unfortunately they're not all the same. You'll need someone to remove the current one with specialist tools. Or Audi can supply a replacement based off your vin.

Get a proper remap from a professional

Looks like a pig to get at.

The tuning boxes just trick the ECU to tink it's running in different conditions. You e done the right thing removing it. You could try Celtic tuning who show you what the power/mpg figures will be from each map they do once you put your reg in. Or you could try Revo or darkside developments. When choosing a garage to do a remap make sure you use one that's got a rolling road so you get the best results.

Thanks Kev, The dehumidifier I've purchased only has an on/off button and no additional settings. I checked it this morning and it hadn't collected any water. Whereas the moisture bag had done it's job again as per the below pic. Yep not in a position to run the drain pipe so just letting it collect in the container. I'm running the extension lead into the car Nd then have the dehumidifier plugged into that.

I did use normal tablets salt which did absorb quite a bit of moisture but was recommended the coarse salt so will see if that's better 🙂 Thanks Cliff 🙂 when I was looking at dehumidifiers I was shocked at the difference in running costs. For example the one I've chosen will cost around £175 per year if run all year round. Whereas the 4l one I was originally going to get was going to cost £525 a year to run! Thank you for the suggestion of the calcium chloride, I'll definitely give that a go. Not going to lie, I'm slightly worried about running a dehumidifier in the car to be honest, but need must to preserve the car.

As you will all know my A6 has now been stood sometime and has started to get condensation inside the cabin. I fear this is going to start doing damage as I noticed one of my interior window stickers has started to go mouldy. I must add, I do have the car covered with a tarpaulin (not a car cover as I still wanted the car to breath so the tarp covers the roof and tops of the doors to where the glass meets the door skin. I've have experimented with salt and one of the moisture bags which did clear some of it. Since then I have placed coarse salt inside tupperware containers and placed them on the dash and I have invested in a Silent night 2L dehumidifier. I'll keep you posted on how I get on. Pic 5 the table salt I had used originally which had got stuck together after absorbing moisture. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. In some case a software update fixes the issue but don't be surprised if the unit has failed.

We've seen lately older Audi's (2002 models roughly) with rotten front subframes. Not seen any q5s on here yet though so yours is the first. You might be better getting a second hand one.
