  1. I do appreciate the help from both of you as I really want to save the old girl. Every engine rebuilder I speak to are saying no.
  2. Steve how would it work regarding hooking up the instrument cluster and injection pump as both are coded to the ECU? And I'd need to replace to radiator, starter motor etc wouldn't it? Would it bolt up to my 6 speed manual gearbox? Would it be easier to fit the 1.9 pd150? What's the service history on the engine Kev? What mileage has it done? what's the bhp etc? Interesting it's been mapped by darkside. Would it come complete, Ie: just take it out the iveco and go straight into the A6. And how much?? 🙂
  3. Sorry to hear of your situation. I know how it feels as I'm in a similar situation with my A6
  4. I'm in a similar boat with my A6 c5. In my case the fuel pump is coded to the imobiliser and instrument cluster and ECU. Plus there are different fuel.pump types depending on bhp of the engine. I suspect yours might be similar. As such I'd recommend you sourcing a bre engine or get yours rebuilt. Not going to lie, I'm struggling to find someone to rebuild mine.
  5. I have on my 1993 ford escort and use performance direct which costs me £180 per year
  6. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂
  7. Glad you're enjoying it 🙂 yea I've heard the matrix headlights are good. Some Audi's such a s the q7 aren't coming with them currently despite being standard fit. Blaming it on chip shortage nonsense 🙄 Well.ive got an old A6 c5 which is 21 years old. I love the car but engine diagnosed as terminal this week 😞 car is sentimental so not willing to get rid of it. It's been owned by my dad then me since it was new. VID20230405160344.mp4
  8. Could them be something jammed in the system which could prevent it opening?
  9. I'd recommend you look on eBay for a second hand one.
  10. Yep egr would throw up a eml light. You can try to get the egr cleaned. However the best option is to replace it with a genuine one. Cheap aftermarket ones can be of questionable quality
  11. What lights you got? Xenon headlights are different to halogen
  12. Great bit of advice there Stephen. Thanks for sharing 😊
  13. There is an hydraulic pump. Have you done a diagnostic check?
  14. I'm waiting on full confirmation on how bad it is. I'm finding it hard to find a specialist to work on it.
  15. That's sods law! I'm refusing to give up on the girl. We've had her from new.
  16. Its funny I thought about car sos! No way I'd qualify now. Partly the reason for the performance route was to rebuild a whole new engine excluding the bock as that avoids issues with DVLA. Plus with an expensive modified engine I'd go the agreed valuation route and this protecting the car slightly better from a write off situation. I've also weighed up that performance parts will cost no more overall than the stock genuine Audi parts where I can source them. That's my rationale. My brother thinks I should go the whole fig and Dona full resto as the engine is out anyway. All specialists I've contacted are shocked I've got 344k out of a no rebuilt 2.5.
  17. Should be a straight forward job. I personally always get a qualified mechanic to do the work even though I understand the theory
  18. It sure is. The A6 eats the suspension arms and bushes I find.
  19. As audi have mis diagnosed it then there shouldn't be an additional charge for diagnosis in my opinion. I'd be getting it back to them.
  20. I'd recommend looking at buyers guides on YouTube. Make sure it's been serviced correctly. Including relevant work on the Cambelt or Timing chain. Make sure all electrical items work
  21. As it's a common issue I'd recommend getting it booked in at an Audi independent specialist.
