  1. Thanks both for your valid inputs. It's definitely a tough call. I've contacted a few garages, as my usual garage won't touch it. 2 others haven't got back to me a d darkside developments saud they don't touch the 2.5tdi. I'm going to contact the Audi independent specialist too. I'm very much of the opinion of getting her back on the road. Which leaves the following options: Find a donor and transfer everything over. My problem with a donor or 2nd engine nis that it just buys me time and doesn't secure the cars long term future. Rebuild current engine with either performance parts or stock. But in effect having a new engine other than block and heads. If I build a performance engine then I would upgrade brakes and suspension and then get an agreed valuation with insurance to make it harder for it to be written off. Or As engine is out do a full restoration. As other things like electrics need looking at anyway.
  2. Been to the garage and heard the old girl running. There's knocking from the crank, and turbo is whistling/whining louder then it ever did before. The video says it all really. I'm in a predicament, repair engine, replace engine or scrap the car. Head says scrap, heart says rebuild. I've been doing research as finding knowledgeable people non the 2.5 is few and far between. I've sourced a second hand aym engine with 3 months warranty in Spain for £811 including postage. However the history on it is questionable. I've tried to source one in the UK without success. My garage where the car has been maintained for the last 18 years don't want to touch it for a rebuild. Darkside developments don't touch 2.5tdi engines, I've contacted another specialist who has got back to me. Going to try again today though.as I have more leads. From what I'm reading, besides the engine I might have to change the injection pump as that's coded to the car but the current one will only work on the lower horse power versions. I'd need the l pump if I fit a bau engine which has 180bhp as standard and seem more plentiful. The most extreme approach is to now build a performance 2.5tdi engine (stage 4) as it might be my only chance in life to get a highly modified car. As you can imagine I'm devastated and scrapping it isn't on the cards really. I just know once I start I'll end up doing more to it like changing the clutch and DML etc. VID20230405160344.mp4
  3. Here's some guides: https://guides.brit.co/guides/audi-a4a5-bang-olufsen-subwoofer-upgrade
  4. If you've bought it in the last 30 days take it back asap. In the 30 days after purchase you're entitled to a full refund or for them to fix it FOC.
  5. eBay for aftermarket. OEM yiu might need to look at Europe as black editions in Europe got black badges but we didn't in the UK.
  6. Thanks for sharing Steve. Think the bushes are a week spot on all A6 models. I know the bushes go in the arms of the c5 too.
  7. Glad you found the parts. Did you manage to order one?
  8. If you have one it should be in the compartment of the rear seat centre armrest
  9. What's the service history on it? My dad has bad luck with an 8v 1.6tdi. His blew a turbo and then blew an engine all under 30k miles
  10. This video might help: https://youtu.be/LwwcoIG4ci0
  11. I'd recommend a diagnostic check to see if any fault codes flag up. Could it be maf, crank sensor, cam sensor?
  12. No probs at all. If there's too much power going through the wiring it could mean an issue elsewhere. I had a similar issue with my much older a6
  13. I'd recommend get it booked in with you having a courtesy car and they have it for a few days. So the technicians can do lots of road tests.
  14. Welcome to the forum you'll find the members on here are a friendly and helpful bunch 🙂 Yep feel free to ask any questions and we'll endeavour to answer them 🙂
  15. Fingers crossed 🤞 my evening will be sent researching etc
  16. I'm 90% certain they are. Sport is 20mm drop.
  17. Hi James before fitting a new camera I'd recommend getting an auto electrican to assess the wiring as the camera failing could have been caused by failing wiring harness
  18. I'd recommend you speak to autologics or Audi retrofits as members have used them in the past and been happy with the results
