  1. Im fairly certain the 2 systems, stop start and auto hand brake are not connected. I saw your other post about the auto HB and it appears there is an underlying issue with that system and nothing to do with the stop start. A few people with similar problems with the Auto HB over on a golf forum i follow had the rear ABS sensors replaced, could be worth suggesting to Audi should your problems persist.
  2. After almost 4 months of waiting I finally collected a couple of days ago. Despite luke warm customer service from my dealer im delighted with the car. Took a leap of faith with the colour having never seen an A3 in Nano Grey but it looks the cats pyjamas ☺ Not had much opportunity to drive it yet but initial signs are good, I think the 1.5tsi is going to be more than capable.
  3. 3 weeks earlier than originally planned the build has started. Tracker showing the car is in QC but it's 1 stage out. Car is actually in the queue for assembly, hopefully it will make Emden before the week is over.
  4. A few weeks ago the good people at Bolton Audi told me week 22 build, i.e last week. Now the tracker is working again its showing week 33 build or 77 days later ! I ordered the 1.4tsi which has now been changed to the new 1.5tsi so I'm guessing there's a large demand for that engine, particularly as its just been released in the Golf as well. In the end it is what it is and there isn't too much I can do about it, anybody have a week 33 build slot, if so what are you waiting for ?? I'm Sportback S Line in Nano Grey.
  5. I follow a Golf forum and there's a few members on there all waiting for cars that are held at the port of Emden so it sounds like the VW group have a shipping issue and its not just your car. Mid May delivery of you car is possible but it needs to be on a boat from Emden sometime this week. I've just ordered an A3 sportback, if your car arrives mid May as promised how long have you been waiting?
  6. As you have a tdi my guess is your car is doing an active DPF regen. The ecu monitors the level of soot build up in the DPF (Diesel Particulates Filter). Lots of short journies where the car doesn't reach normal operating temp can cause soot build up. Every now and again the car needs to clear soot from the DPF. Normally a 20 to 30 min run at decent speed will do it but if that doesn't happen the ecu injects a second shot of diesel on the exhaust stroke this increases the exhaust gas temp whichs burns the soot from the DPF. The fans you hear are just cooling everything down as you stopped the car. You can sometimes smell the soot burning. Got to admit its a bit concerning first time you hear as it sounds like the car is about to take off but its really nothing to worry about. If you're getting this every time you turn the car off it sounds like the dpf regen isn't completing so the ecu tries again next time you use the car. If this keeps happening, Absolute worst case the DPF cloggs up and you'll get an error light on the dash this means a trip to the stealer.
  7. Thanks all. A week ?? I ordered my golf GTD in october and it was almost April the following year before I finally got the keys, that was a killer. I became a slave of the order tracker, checking every day for an update then nothing. I suspect I'll be just the same with the A3. I haven't got the order number yet as my sales person has been on holiday. I hope to hell she ordered it before she finished. ... Got to admit, got a bit giddy with the options, most looking forward to virtual cockpit and audi sound. I do a fair few motorway miles so speccing the ACC was a must. I have it on the golf and it's one of the best things about the GTD, it takes the pain from mile after mile of 50mph average speed restrictions. Disappointed folding mirrors are not standard on the S Line but I have garage so they were also a necessity.
  8. Hello all First post on this forum. Ive just ordered an A3 Sportback S Line in Nano Grey. Having owned 3 Golfs on the bounce MK5 GT Sport, MK6 GT tdi and MK7 GTD its time for a change. Ok, I know the A3 and golf are the same car underneath but I just cant live with the lower valance on the facelift golf, its ugly beyond belief. Another significant reason for going A3 is that this will be a company car so I wanted a mid power petrol engine, something you cant spec in the facelift golf yet. My view is diesels will get hammered on tax in the future. Don't have an ETA for my Audi yet but im expecting July / August
