There are a few threads out there about the tel/bluetooth on earlier A4s - as it seems to have been an expensive optional extra. But on routing around found this chain that could help - about 2 thirds the way down is how the originator of the thread managed to get theirs working. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php/319282-Tel-button-Telephone-not-installed Also could check with your Audi main dealer with your VIN number if the car was spec'd with the bluetooth.

Got this from the Ross Tech site - might need VCDS to change the setttings of the central locking - Selective Central Locking active (Single Door Locking)Selective door locking will typically default to the driver's door and is most common per the factory configuration. Turning OFF selective locking should enable all vehicle doors locking/unlocking unless configured otherwise in the DIS/MFA or respective adaptation channels. http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Audi_A3/S3_%26_A3_Cabriolet_(8P/FM)_Tweaks#Alarm.2C_Locking_and_Coming_Home

Alas Steve, I am away for that one - otherwise I would but thank you for the cars compliment.

Hi all, Finally got the time to get some proper pictures of the beige beasty. Hope you like, hoping to make some of the meet ups next year. Cheers Mark

I got an update from Audi Updates on the tinterweb - came with full instructions on how to proceed. I know with mine I had to send them my VIN number as there is a licence file that is needed to associate the maps to the car.

Correct!!

'it's not about your vorsprung durch technik' - 1991 bit to much of a clue --- but seems you are not going to cheat.

The one key that didn't work - yes. Would unlock the door with the key but the dashboard told me it was unrecognised when I went to start it. My A7 only has a button,,, The other key, luckily, worked ok though.

My, new to me A7, only one of the wireless keys worked on the car - Had to have both reprogrammed and I did use Audi main dealer. Was £60 and they did a complete health check on the vehicle and washed it too.

Hi Paul, Some of this could depend on the version of MMI in your Audi - Having some bluetooth issues with my A7 2012 and about to attempt an upgrade to the MMI myself (once I have plucked up the courage!!) You should be able to pair more than one phone and select which is default and change them in the MMI under Bluetooth > Bonded Devices. Some good tips had help topics out on the interweb - one good site - http://mr-fix.info/audi/ and some useful youtubers out there too. Cheers Mark

Ok, think I am fitting a losing battle! Found last might that only 1 key has been registered to the car so I don't think whatever I do is not going to make a difference until the car has been to Audi. Thanks for all the assurance guy's M

Hi Gareth, Both 'keys' are the wireless box remote with an emergency key inside. The spare emergency key will unlock & lock the door but then the alarm goes off. Trýing the start/stop button just brings up the dash message 'key not recognised...." placing the key on the wireless point and pressing the brake and start/stop button (as per manual) dies nothing. Thanks for the assist M

Thanks Trevor, these are my 2 nearest Audi garages.. the phone booking people didn't offer my local VW agent but may speak with them later and see if they can help. Audi are charging £60 for the reprogramme.

Hi All, Now spent a couple of days with my new A7 and still cannot believe its parked on the drive... Couple of questions though,,, the spare key needed a new battery which I have replaced but the car doesn't recognise it. Have tried several youtube and online hints at how to reprogramme it but none have worked - will try the one that was posted on here when I get home but not holding much hope. Any one had this or got round it without using an Audi main dealer ? I contacted Audi to be told that my local garage, Chingford, can't do anything til the end of July and now have it booked in at the end of June at Harold Wood.. Just for a 30min appointment to have the key reprogrammed!! Is this usual for an Audi booking ?? Also I am toying with the idea of getting the car mapped - currently the 245bhp version any ideas of the sort of cost just to stage 1 do not quite need to likes of Kim Collins, I don't think.... Thanks for your time. Mark
