Sorry to hear your problems regarding this Tofferton 78 , I'm afraid you are one of many unfortunately. It maybe that they didn't complete the update correctly. Providing evidence of this may be hard ! othere than your vehicle went in great and came out not great. It begs the question! ! did they road test after!!. With regards to reinstating the original software, they won't buddy .

Many thanks for the kind words Gareth, Penny, if your Audi is running well and has been for many miles adopting the attitude "if it ain't broke don't fix it" then you are going to continue hopefully down the same track. Source a good Vag indy garage to carry out your regular servicing etc , their will be someone here that will know a trusted garage local to you . We hope the info been offered to you will help you make an informed decision. Better still have a stage 1 remap and enjoy more👍.

It's your choice, you are not legally obligated to have it carried out , just ignore the letters and enjoy your Audi. Make sure though! ! that you specify when you book your Audi in for work that you have added to the paperwork NO TO THE EA189 UPDATE! !!. Its bad news for your Audi..I hope this helps.

I always try and park well away from half wits in car parks, usually the furthest corner where no one can be bothered to walk from. Trying to justify spending £278 on 4 alloys to be refurbished at the moment. 😕😕

All booked, 2 tickets myself and 1. See you there. And once I've figured it out my club stickers are on Das Auto Avant I'll post a picture 😊. It's not a show special just a standard A6 Avant Le mans. Sorry folks.

Hi Dan 3222, I am happy to be of help with your soup buddy!!!. Mind those croutons 😀😀😀

I am aware it may not be listed ,but the Audi quattro of the group B era, that started off the big list of superb well built supercar eaters! Oh go on the RS6 Avant...

Thank you Steve, I am down in sunny Bournemouth, where is the next show geographically close to the south coast if you please..
-
Hi Steve, that's great news. Many thanks.

That's the one . One proper strip and rebuild. HARDCORE! !. And the list of drivers that drove and still drive those beasts. Respect especially to Ms Mouton. Walter Rohrl is still hoofing his S1 around and he's 70 ish , mad man☺☺.

Good evening folk's, I am wondering if it would be possible to purchase some Audi ownersclub.com stickerso for my A6 Le mans please. Maybe one for the tailgate and either rear window etc. Price and availability. Kind regards Edd. ☺
-
Hi Steve, To my knowledge they have never been changed , bear In mind the A6 is only on 70k , with regards to the EA189 update other than a little more diesel sounding its behaving alright really just not the same as before the update so Audi uk can deal with it through my union solicitors if needs be! , somthing relating to the trade and desription act I believe.... The glow plugs are £18 each I think and im unsure if its cam cover off as they invoice 1 hr to complete ?? which seems along time . Do the newer tdi engines still have this silly set up ???. Its a CAHA engine.... Kind regards Edd.

Good evening boys n girls, a little common sense advice please!!. After the dreaded emissions update and a slightly rougher running 2010 A6 AVANT 170 I decided to Vag com my car ! This is a couple of months after the 189 update just to see what if anything was amiss and I have a P0674 Cylinder 4 glow plug fault 😀 . I have spoken with my local Vag specialist and they have said it would cost the same labour to change the one all 4 (if it is actually faulty ,but !! if 1 is faulty would it be sensible to change all 4 as we are looking at an electrical item and if 1 is at its end of shelf life the other 3 maybe approaching this abrupt end?? Kind regards in advance, also it's going to Poole Audi to be plugged in as I'm not happy with this update debacle/ rough running end product. .

Hi Trevor , yes I guessed it maybe however we have left windows partially open to help vent some of this recent temp hike. I've read somewhere that the transmitter receiver is in the boot behind one of the side panels in our Avant. Not sure this is correct though?? Either way it's decided to work so happy days , still odd !!😉
-
Hi folk's, just thought I'd share this random behaviour from Monday evening to Wednesday lunchtime , both plips stopped opening/closing our A6 C6 Avant also the boot courtesy lights stopped working , not sure of the significance? Anyway tried the usual key in the drivers door holding open or close button down while opening and closing car with key ( the old way) " you all remember that right"!! , also key in ignition to 1st setting and pressing plip. Both these ways would reset plips to lock and unlock ! Walk away , come back and they stopped working again??? Then.... this lunchtime by god it all starts working with no help.Random ?? Anyone else experienced this and would it be related to this spike in hot weather?? Never had this before in 11 yrs of Ford Mondingo and Vauxhall ownership? ?.

Yeah, a small byproduct of a little upgrade I suppose. Looking forward to the whole EPB shenanigans whilst doing them too😞😞.I must remember to put the battery on charge while doing it though on a serious note! !!.

Oh I don't know , ever worked on a Citroen XM with an electrical fault😀or anyone for rear beam/trailing arm bearings on a 205/309 etc etc.I wouldn't give my laptop up for any of that nonsense. .....
-
Good shout Steve, that deals with the hot gas/dust.This maybe my route thinking laterally, no mucking around just like for like .Many thanks. Maybe longer lasting lifetime hopefully ,as my days of driving 205's with 16 valve'ers on twin 45 as if I stole them have long gone 😅😅😅😅.Ah good days those.....
-
HI Steve, thanks for your response, I haven't investigated disc diameter yet it was more the width of the disc in relation to the caliper/carrier position. Time to start measurements i think.Pad choice , hmmm I was thinking just standard ?.
-
Good evening all, I know it's a Friday evening and it's "time for wine" red preferred ☺ , has anyone upgraded a 2010 A6 C6 Avant Le Mans from solid rear discs to vented and is their much to change apart from discs!! .Kind regards Edd .
