Update ! After spending about £800 on mainly labour and replacing the 2 knock sensors, the injection thermostat, secondary airflow pump and sensor and pipes, the Pinking is still there but worse. The parts that were replaced were shown as fault codes so no more engine management light . The pinking starts evening at cold temperature only when driving , does not happen when revving . The garage check the compression and it is low ish on 2 ports but surely this cant be causing the pinking . This is my first Audi and so far as much as I like the Audi when it was working, this fault is kind of putting me off getting another and I may need to sell it.
