Audi A4 written off cat B, no airbag deployed
Joe Cott replied to BlueCalipers's topic in Audi A4 (B7) Forum
Kelly, always haggle, haggle, haggle with the insurance company as they never offer their highest price at first. On the poor damaged dalmation; that's really hard luck dan does the home insurance not cover your dog's accidental damage? or was it not at the house so not relevant?- 7 replies

Bass speakers in A3?
Joe Cott replied to Joe Cott's topic in Audi Audio / DashCams / Electronics / Security
that's interesting, thanks for that. As it's a cabrio which has the roof off at all times if not raining the sound system is turned up LOUD outside towns. -
I have the fabulous Bose system in my A3 & the clarity of sound at volume is brilliant. It almost sounds like it has got a quality "boom box" in the back. That's the question; does anyone know if there is big bass speaker or two in the rear? The book does not give much info on speakers or positions that I can see.

Mmm nice car, welcome to the clan Rob. Happy motoring

that's exactly what I did in my MX5 very succesfully but it will not work in the audi; the ipod connector comes out from the back of the multi CD thingy in the glovebox, it lights up when plugged in & the lying little xxxx says it's playing but I cant find it in the myriad of switches & options

Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb-Worcestershire
Joe Cott replied to Joe Cott's topic in Northern Area Meetings
cheers Steve, I'll get the hang of where to post stuff eventually -
not sure if this is the right place to post this but as a member of the MAC (Midland Automobile Cub) I would like to share info on the event this coming weekend; Shelsley Walsh Hill climb. Worcestershire The weekend of 22/23 July is the biggest event of the year here. What’s on? Classic Nostalgia 2017 http://www.shelsleywalsh.com/classic-nostalgia-2017/ Racing cars, rally & road cars competing on the hill all day, come & talk to the drivers, watch them racing. You can get right up to them, no barriers or restrictions in the paddock. The social scene; Jazz bands & dancing in the courtyard between the restaurant & the bar. Music all day provided by; My Favourite Things, Sam & the Sax, The Ding Dong Dadios, Jon Clare & the Fabulous Dough Boys. The Battle of Britain memorial flight will be in the air at lunchtime Sunday & the first 100 classic cars to enter the public car park will be offered entry to the Concours d’elegance sponsored by Classic & Sports car magazine. The top 15 cars will get the chance to drive the hill (not to race but still a very rare occurrence). As if all the above were not enough, the weekend celebrates land speed record family, the Campbells. Donald Campbell’s daughter Gina & his nephew Don will be attending the weekend with some of the ex-Campbell road cars. Malcomb Campbell’s 1927 world record (300+ mph) will be remembered with the 22 litre W12 Napier aero engined Bluebird which will also be doing demonstration runs up the hill. There will be sideshows, vintage dodgems, car clubs & a bloke using RC cars to paint!?!? http://www.popbangcolour.com/popbang-in-action/ What more can I say? Best day is Sunday If you are at a loose end then Shelsley Walsh in the beautiful Teme Valley, just 8 miles from Worcester, might be the place for you. http://www.shelsleywalsh.com/find-us/ 1927 - BLUEBIRD

just finished the Autoglym treatment on the hood. after the first proper rain since I bought the car the fabric was soaked, so; remembered to cling film the windows before treatment. washed & scrubbed with the cleaning fluid, dried off then treated with the proofing fluid. Should be good for 12 months I reckon Does anyone do this more regularly that 12 monthly intervals?
-
Thanks Sven good to hear that 👍

In my MX5s I have always had very effective windblockers. My question is; does the A3 unit work effectively? Although no problem this summer, it might be needed in the winter (I have always had the roof off if not raining even in freezing weather).

greetings Hasan, welcome to the clan. I'm also new to Audi ownership & it is a pleasure to drive & also quite good fun. happy motoring, it'll be worth the wait

Ebay offerings. I am also looking at costs for a near future service as I cannot find any record of chain replacement even though full service history & 80000 miles.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Audi-VW-2-0-TDI-BLB-BKP-Oil-Pump-Timing-Chain-03G-115-230-03G115230-/331411733446?epid=1350805118&hash=item4d29adbbc6:g:wukAAOSw7ThUiHh5 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TIMING-CHAIN-KIT-FOR-AUDI-A4-2-0-2004-2009-TCK127-/263029251160?epid=1148961944&hash=item3d3dc3dc58:g:BCIAAOSwAHZUPAJ0 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/for-Audi-a4-Passat-2-0tdi-oil-pump-chain-tensioner-crank-srocket-timing-tool-/222341822101?fits=Car+Make%3AAudi|Cars+Type%3A2.0+TDI&hash=item33c49af695:g:rKAAAOSwubRXMDeA

nice motor Andrew, welcome to the clan
-
looks brilliant but I'm just a poor pensioner
-
thanks Dan, never thought to place cardboard on floor. Doh ! I usually wash it after clay to get rid of anything then microfibre then polish. I love a shiney car, my last MX5 this year =
-
I cannot use clay bars any more because, due to dodgy fingers I'm always dropping them. I have used a clay mitt on the last car with "solid" paint; is that ok to use on my metallic?
-
greetings Dan, welcome to the clan; I also joined about 2 weeks back & found the jolks here a friendly helpful lot
-
that's correct Gareth, the old'un. quite fast with auto & brakes that faded to nothing after 3 hard applications; made driving hard quite interesting. Your Jag is a pretty smart looking model in my opinion & I bet the V8 was a flyer.
