Hi Mate, Thats why I said to check first, it's the only place I found that actually even mentions the 11th tooth version. I think your best bet before ordering that one or any other would be to speak to an audi parts department/mechanic or other reputable independant for clarification on the tooth variations.

Actually, I just found this: https://www.onlineautomotive.co.uk/Audi_A3_Starter Motors.aspx I think it'll be the first on the list at the top (but check first), prices look quite reasonable too.

Hi Ballard, You need to check carefully before ordering one as there are multiple different versions depending on whether it's auto/manual and also if your car has stop/start function on it! It would be worth ringing a main dealer if your unsure of the fitment to at least get the part no for one which an auto-factor could then at least reference. It does seem strange, I had a look around myself and couldn't find an 11 tooth starter motor either most look to be the 10 tooth version!

Hi Diggy98, When you inspected the brakes have they all been bleeded as well? That would be a good shout before you start looking into replacing parts.

This was another nice Audi, slammed on air ride! It had a really nicely finished red (more burgundy) color leather interior. @Steve Q Did you happen to get a pic of the interior of this one? -

This was one of my favorite cars of the day. This is the engine bay of the first red Audi 100 from Steve's post above. -

This Audi quattro which Steve posted a pic of above is actually a very rare car. It is 1 of only 17 which were made as right hand drive but with a left hand drive chassis. Apparently it was the result of a mistake when swapping over the production models at the end of the left hand drive production line! The own spent plenty of time to create the rally replica but intends to return it to 100% original after finding out the rarity of the car. -

Nice write up Steve , I've got some pics I'll add to the thread once I get them off my phone in a bit. I've got some cracking pics of the engine bay of the first red Audi quattro about and also I've got a couple of minuets of video from one of the track sessions later in the day which I've lumped in to one video. Not Audi's but there is a clip of the MK V & MK I Golfs going at it, I'd didn't get it on video but the MKV messed up the corner to the finish striaght and further round the lap it looks like he mite of broke something and the MK I did him -
I should be available the first to weekends, 06/01 & 13/01.

That's already happend! Lol.

So an unexpected new toy arrived today (my dad's a legend😎), he asked me for a link to the DA polisher I was looking at getting and bought me it out of the blue, said he wanted one for himself. I'll do a review probably next week sometime weather permiting 😊.

I wasn't sudgesting to take the sump off yet was just asking if that had already been explored or if it had been off previously if it could be recalled if it was there (not unheard of for these to be missed). @Alan, Does it usually occure when you corner one way rather than the other. This info may help determine if it could be an issue with the pickup/baffle?
-
I mite be wrong but I think there is a 5th one that plugs into the cooling system, not sure if that was just on the 1.9 PD thought. If so that is the one I was going to sugest to check.
-
Not to sound like a daft question but have you had the sump off? Is the baffle plate present? Should look something like this: It just sound to me like the oil pickup is being starved accelerating off roundabout's!
-
Hi Jay, do you get any warning lights on the dash when it does it? (glow plug warning light intermittent possibly?)
-
There mite be some more interest from the FB page as well so I've posted a link to the forum on there :)

I haven't had a remap myself yet but currently looking into it. I've got an A3 2.0 TDI 170. I'd do some careful investigation before using any box mod like revo etc... as Audi diagnostics may be able to tell if an aftermarket device has been fitted even if removed before going in for work under warranty!
-
Ha ha, send her away for a girly weekend and take yourself to get a remap chucked on it without her knowing if your brave enough! :)
-
Hi Degsy1880, Nice motor you got yourself there and very good on the juice! Shame the misses didn't let you get the S-Line, maybe next time. Anyway, welcome and catch you round the forum.
