  1. Can’t wait to see the dashcam footage I know they’ll say they were test drives to diagnose the fault. If that is the case, why so many tests at high speed on public roads. Use a rolling road for tests like this!
  2. Car not being worked on until Wednesday. Apparently water pump failure. When I asked where the water comes from as I don’t add any. I was told coolant pump failure. I didn’t mention the tracker on my car registered them driving the car at 85mph on 30mph roads and driving it around the local roads back and forth, and then for a 6.6 mile journey to a local picnic spot. Which shouldn’t have been required if they had already diagnosed the failure via diagnostic tools. Lastly. I’ll be going there tomorrow to use my spare key and download the dashcam footage. I can understand test drives after replacing the pump. Not before.
  3. Hi All, Sorry for my earlier spleen vent, the site is cool. My bone of contention was with my new car having such a major problem as I work as a contractor miles away, taking time off to bring a new car with 5k on the clock, to a far away dealership because it can’t be driven above 20mph, then waiting around to have it booked in and all that malarkey, then collecting it - costs me money each time, It’s not like I get paid when I’m traveling to, from or in an Audi dealership. Wish I did tho. Would be easy money 🤣 The Audi tech said its fooked - 2 major electical faults and turbo boost failure so even though it’s under warranty it’s still a pain to have to deal with this scenario on a new vehicle. At least they will repair and give me peace of mind I won’t have the same !Removed! flapping moment again when the car instantly drops from 70mph to 53mph with no prior warning. No acceleration to get out of the way and no brake lights warning the car behind that I’m drastically slowing down within seconds for no known cause I appreciate the site is funded by advertising and probably mediated and managed by good hearted people for free. It was just a silly moan on a verybad day when it was hot, my car died and I had to limp back home with no air con, no acceleration and a dreadful thought my pride and joy was ruined. Onwards and upwards 👍🥃⭐️
  4. By the way - this forum on the phone is a pain with all the adverts! I cant manoeuvre around it very easily Can this site be updated and brought into 2018 with less adverts and a better web page for a phone? 🤗🤣🎉🤪👍🥃🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗👍🥃
  5. Hi Steve, i don’t have diagnostic tools or app, called audi roadside assist. They wanted to send an AA guy but I requested an Audi tech who’ll be here tomorrow. Apparently- from a web search, this is a fan relay software fault which is intermittent but known about by Audi and they are still looking for a software patch to resolve it. Thats why my air con hasn’t been cold for a week. Just normail air temperature pumped out! The cars brains puts it into limp mode to force the driver to take it to a service centre. Went out a little while ago and the alarm is gone from the binnicle and my MMI app just shows an alert for low washer fluid but not the ‘Drive system malfunction’ alert anymore - so, I hope his diagnostic tool highlights the prior alert and they book the car in for a full check. I’ll update this thread with their updates 👍🥃😎
  6. Hi All just had the cruise control disengage and this pop up as the car lost all acceleration Drive system: malfunction! Please contact Service. a yellow warning triangle ⚠️ A yellow graphic of the car with an arrow pointing down onto it. Relaised that earlier today the air con was not cold at all. Not even a bit cold when put on LO setting. WTF! car less than a year old and lost all power - limp mode til I got home - sitting in the drive and in shock this just happened to a new car!!!
  7. It’s a complete joke in my humble opinion. They should at least limit the area these keys transmit within. 1 metre or less is more than enough distance to allow the door to open when you approach the vehicle. Same crazy idea as the contactless debit cards where the thieves have a scanner in a back pack and debit your card of £30 each time your walk past them. They can be half a metre away from your card and still steal the data! Hence my cards are in a RFID blocking wallet!!
  8. Stick your car keys in an RFID proof pouch (EBay or Amazon) when in your jacket walking around - stops the keys being scanned and copied if your shopping, when you come back to the car it will still be there! All & any manufacturer is susceptible to this easy theft, even Rolls Royce and Aston’s are taken this way Also when at home put the keys in a metal tin - so they can’t be scanned through the door. I use a simple lip balm metal tin my daughter got with 3 lip balms from a local supermarket. It’s approx the circumference of a side plate and 2” high Recent bbc news report showed how easy it is for thieves to stand outside your house, scan for the advanced key radio frequency emitted by the key fob at all times, they sample it and send it on to the car via a linked transmitter. They then easily open the doors and drive away if they want. As their transmitter is holding the last frequency used by your legit key, unless they stop the engine. It keeps the immobiliser off until they get to their destination- where they strip for parts or put in a container for Africa 🥃

    LED DRL problems

Hi Lew I have no idea. Hopefully a techie here will help out soon.

    MMI App

The Audi MMi app is better than Audi connect app as it shows you the last alarm trigger event and if any doors are open. It does show a decent representation of where your car is currently parked and it’s good for warnings ( my app just advised I need to add some Ad Blue within 1500miles) cant heat the car remotely tho opening the doors remotely is hit and miss cheers

    MMI App

Hi The my Audi mobile app doesn’t allow you to turn the air con or heated seats on. Its a basic app which can show you the location, oil level, approx miles left in the tank and some other bits and bobs about alarms / warnings; but nothing amazing. Its apparently meant to allow remote opening of the doors but it doesn’t show up on the app even though set up to allow it on the MMI in the car itself. Unless there is another app you are thinking about. This one is not the app you want.
  12. HI All my request for someone with OBDEleven went nowhere very quickly. If anyone has VCDS and would like beer tokens or just to copy all the movies I have on my SD cards :), or both 👍 please get in touch. Cheers Jay
  13. Changed all 4 door puddle lights to the Audi rings - bought from Audi via eBay for £50 per 2 pack. Highly recommened over the factory fitted puddle lights.
  14. Hi Steve i won’t be selling for a few years at least. I think the seatbelt warning will be left on but if lane assist / traffic sign recognition can be turned on by OBDeleven it will be a result after paying a fortune already.
  15. Hi Steve, I have ignored the salesperson, customer services rep and the Audi workshop and hardwired in a front camera, which is on a fuse that turns the camera on when I open the door using advanced key, so it’s all powered up and recording prior to me sitting in the seat or driving off. The rear cam is connected to the rear 12v socket for convienience, it powers up when I push the start button even if the engine isn’t being started. Much happier now with the long lead from front dashcam hidden from view
  16. My B&O system is fantastic. Sub and Bass on full, all the time. £750 well worth the price
  17. ACC requires 2 infra red lasers / sensors to be fitted to the front bumper - which allows the car in front distance from mine to be gauged and registered. So thats not on the plan of action now!
  18. hi Piotr, is OBDEleven any good? cheers james
  19. Hi all ia anyone able to help me change the configuration using any means possible to turn off the start stop and the seat belt warning permanently & turn on lane assist and anything else that can be turned on 👍 I’m willing to pay if not too expensive 👍🥃 thank you.
  20. Hello mate ive got all the active options - they were provided when I bought the car. My options are mostly already listed in my profile information As I already have high beam assist, matrix led headlights, Audi pre-sense and front parking sensors fitted, the hardware is mostly already on the car (except the ACC stalk) but I think you can use the MMI to turn ACC on and off once it’s retrofit activated in the cars software. I’m looking to turn on the options that were not initially activated by the tech guys at the factory. -( those options require the windscreen camera and sensors to be fitted ) - which I already have so shouldn’t be a major problem I just need the coding changed from 0 to 1 using VAGCOM or whatever the techie guys use to change the software configuration of the car. 0 = off and 1 = on? Or something like that Cheers.
  21. Hi Steve. Superb links! I suspect from reading them all, that I already have the majority of critical kit fitted into the car: 1. Calibrated Camera in windscreen. 2. IR sensors ( for both parking and Audi pre-sense ) 3. VPC module. I think I’d need a new cruise control stalk with ‘min and max’ selector to control the distance between me and the car I am following and coding to turn all the other bits on from the factory default off. Not something that’s urgent at all, maybe will ask the dealer for the information on how much and how intensive it is to get all the spec available. Then I will have an idea on what’s possible and how much I’m willing to pay Many thanks again.
  22. I would like to enable: Audi Active Lane Assist Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) Traffic jam assist Traffic sign recognition Turn assist I think I already have Audi Pre-sense front with collision avoidance assist as the red warning triangle with Audi Pre Sense popped up on the VC when I got a little close to a car that turned into my lane.
