I purchased a 2015 Audi A4 B8.5 S-line in Januray this year (2023) and have not had any problems until the past month or so. I've noticed that the MMI has begun freezing, and the only way to get it to work again is to reset the MMI using the three button reset mehod, and even after resetting, the screen will then stay black for a period of time. Sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes for the screen to turn back on. I have tried turning off the ignition, removing the keys and waiting a few minutes when the screen freezes, however the MMI will stay turned on with the frozen screen unless I reset. This does not happen in any particular menu screen. I can be in the radio, media, navigation, or any other menu and it will still freeze. If the radio is on or music is playing from my phone via bluetooth, this will stop playing and the screen will freeze. Pressing any buttons does nothing apart from the 3 button reset method. This can happen 2 minutes after turning the car on, or 30+ minutes into a drive. I have updated my firmware to the latest version (HN+_EU_AU3G_K0942_3) and initially thought this was resolved, however the MMI still freezes. Has anyone else experienced an issue like this, or is there anything more I can check? All I have do so far is update the firmware. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I'm having a serious issue with my 2013 Audi A4 Avant S-Line MMI 3G+. Recently, I went into the green engineering menu to make some adjustments, and now my MMI is stuck on the splash screen. Here are the details of my problem: The MMI is stuck on the splash screen. All the buttons work. The radio works. Bluetooth works. I can't see my rearview camera feed. I believe I might have messed up some settings in the green menu, but I'm not sure which ones or how to revert them back to the original state. I would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance on how to fix this. Any step-by-step instructions or references to similar issues would be incredibly helpful. Thank you in advance for your help! Here is a script I ran with a log from Dr.GeR that shows the logs of the MMI. MMI LOG

Hi All, Skip down to TL:DR if you're impatient.... The title of the post sounds a bit grandiose, I grant you, but I am hoping the various Search Engines out there will pick it up and guide people here. I recently updated my MMI MIB2 ("Modular Infotainment Baukasten v2", aka MMI 4G), which is the Infotainment system in my 2017 A6, to version K3663 so that I can have Android Auto (and/or the Apple flavoured 'CarPlay' variant) and also update the SatNav to more modern maps... Coincidentally I also changed my Mobile Phone from an old Sony to a more modern Samsung... I have always absolutely loved the deep, bass-ridden 'Voice' notification 'Ringtone' in the MMI system that - when your Mobile Phone is ringing - announces "You... Have an incoming call..." but all of a sudden, after the software update, it is gone! Dismay! Panic! Grief and mourning! I was gutted. After some searching I found that more modern phones now play out their own Ringtone over the Bluetooth Phone Connection, rather than letting the connected accessory (Ear Buds, Speaker, or in this case - Car) play you its own Ringtone sounds - and if this is the case then the Audi MMI system either hides all the 'Ringtone' settings, or states they are "Not supported by mobile device". But fear not my Audi compatriots - solutions are at hand... TL:DR ------------------------------ If you are happy with your Phone's OWN Ringtone playing out over your car's speakers, but you hear nothing but silence when your phone is ringing, then the chances are that the default volume (Zero!) has not been adjusted since you last paired the current mobile device... Simply arrange for someone to call you on your phone with the car all powered up and paired, then using the Car volume controls (on the centre console or steering wheel) turn up the volume whilst the phone is still ringing until you hear your lovely ringtone reverberating throughout the car. Joy! Problem solved! The setting will be remembered for that phone, regardless as to the settings on the actual phone (if you mute your phone sounds the car will still play out your ringtone when you get a call). ------------------------------ If, like me, you want to hear Audi's Ringtone notification sounds AND you own a Samsung then the following should resolve the issue for you... Pair your phone with the car as normal... Make arrangements to receive a call, as above, and turn up the volume to ensure you hear something - the phone's own Ringtone, probably... Now, on your Samsung phone go to Settings --> Connections --> Bluetooth --> Advanced (using the three dots in the top-right corner of the 'Bluetooth' screen) and look for the setting named "Ringtone Sync" - if it is there then turn that sucker OFF! Next, go back to the 'Bluetooth' screen and switch it off, count to 5, and back on again. You will have to 'Connect' the phone again using the controls on the car and the phone - it will still be paired, just needs to be connected. Finally, on your car's MMI system go to Phone --> Settings --> Volume and you should find that the Ringtone selection and Ringtone Volume settings have reappeared! Simply select the ringtone you desire, and the volume at which you'd like to hear it, and then arrange one final test of being called on your phone to hear your desired choice of Audi Ringtone massage your ears and bring that smile back to your face. ------------------------------ If you don't own a Samsung then I'm afraid I don't know what to tell you... The equivalent of Samsung's "Ringtone Sync" setting is most likely on your phone somewhere - I ask that others who know their non-Samsung phones better to add in the comments below how they turned off that setting for themselves so that we finally have one central repository as to how to fix this annoying situation. (It took me three days of searching, reading, and experimentation to find this myself) ------------------------------ And hey, if you found this useful then maybe you should join the forum here and ask or answer your own questions for each other! This is, after all, the best Audi Owners Forum I've found to date... All the best, Tigger

Anyone got a fix for a problem with MMI system traffic messages having stopped flowing? The Info menu for a few months now says no messages are available. This screen used to list all the RDS radio traffic incidents and the clever and helpful bit was this flowed through to the dynamic route planning app. This came as standard with my Black edition A4 2012 Sport - so no paid subscription. I've read that the Trafficmaster provider of this data has stopped supplying the data. Surely there are other providers. Dealer doesn't seem to have a fix for this problem and doesn't even recognise it. Audi Digital online referred me to the dealer. Please don't say just use a standalone nav app or mobile device! Thanks.

Hi guys - silly question but does anyone have any idea on how to turn off all the electrics in the car? As soon as I sit in the car, all the electrics are on even before pressing the start/stop button. Ideally everything would be off (I want to hard wire my dashcam into the fusebox). Somone suggested sitting in the car then pressing the lock button on the key but I dont want to set off any alarms as I would need to open the doors to get access to things. Just incase anyone is looking to do the same found a excellent guide here -

Hi All, New here! Just purchased a 2019 A5 S Line 40 TFSI and should be collecting it next week. I am upgrading from a 2017 Skoda Superb Sportline. I settled on the 2019 model for a great price and thought it could be a little project. That being said, it currently has Virtual Cockpit and MIB 2 High (I believe, not sure on screen size as I've not seen the car in person yet) - However, I know I'm going to miss the touch screen from the Superb so was looking to upgrade this to the new MIB 3 with the touch screen. It looks do-able as the old and new cars pretty much have the same interior and the mounting points for the screen look the same. Does anyone happen to have a parts list for this? I can find various MIB units on eBay but not sure exactly what I will need other than the MIB unit, screen, centre console cover (for removing the touch pad and buttons) but not sure if anything else is required. Also, much prefer the honeycomb grill over the old style with the horizontal lines so planning to get that replaced as well - again I can find the parts on eBay but dont know any companies who would be able to replace it for me so any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers, Dan

Hi all, Have started to have an issue with the MMI control unit in my 2012 A5 (facelift model). It works fine initially then after about 10-20 minutes it freezes and the lights on the two silver buttons to the right of the large scrolling wheel flash. The controls in the steering wheel still work and the screen changes with it. I tried the three button reset, it does restart the MMI but doesn’t fix the issue. Only thing that seems to work is if I switch the car off for at least an hour. But again, it goes in about 10-20 minutes. Has anyone experienced this particular issue? Do you think replacing the MMI control module will work? any help would be greatly appreciated

Having the total runaround with Audi dealer, Audi Digital Services and Cubic Telecom. Though't I'd start recording what's going on (or a lack thereof!) In September had a new A5 Sportback with the next gen touch MMI, all worked great - for just over a day! Since then the car has not been able to connect to the internet properly/at all. I've been on the phone/chat/email with Audi Digital Services and Cubic Telecom who have had me jump through all their usual hoops of deleting users/cars/keyholders/soft reset/hard reset... and then take it back to the dealer (who kept it a day only to say "it's passed diagnostics and there's no fault listed") They just don't seem to have a clue, it's almost a month now with no proper response from anyone. Initially this seemed to be restricted to just the extra features such as news/weather and logging in remotely (nothing I used that much). Actually it's not "connected" at all, the satellite images for sat nav had worked but only because they were cached locally. Once I left the area they vanished and after Audi Digital Services suggested I perform a hard reset/factory defaults, all of the options have vanished and I cannot turn them on again (so from map settings, there's no satellite images option and the news/weather 'apps' have vanished completely. I suspect that the eSIM has been blocked or the account somehow messed up. Sadly these two + the dealer seem unable to work out why. I even had the dealer insisting I was getting the setup incorrect "you need to follow these steps..." - they were reciting the older MMI setup scripts and not the new "oh that's new to us, we don't know about that" Escalated ! It was buggy to start with. There is a little setup routine to enter the cars key user, together with the users' "MyAudi" user account. This worked ok, but was a bit bumpy because this is done in-car and using the phone app and the last step requires you to complete setup whilst connected to the cars' wifi hotspot which then needs to connect to the internet. However it can't complete this *unless you have enabled wifi devices to connect to the internet via the car (and you've bought a cubic telecom subscription for this purpose) OR turned off the little slider under wifi settings which disables this and then lets your phone or device use it's own cellular data connection (which should be the default setting imo). So the initial Audi Connect licence is apparently valid and active. I have a valid cubic telecom (audi.cubictelecom.com) additional data plan (which I don't really need anyway). This is only useful for devices which can't connect to the internet themselves (kids tablets etc) but baring in mind it's a paltry 5gb / month it's less than useful. The car I really love, it's fantastic but this runaround is just lame. I shouldn't be surprised; car companies and technology are really about a decade behind.

Hi folks, just after some advice I have a 2008 a6 avant. The mmi has packed in, the initiation screen comes on when I press the power button, but goes off after a couple of seconds. I've heard about water ingress from the rear washer pipe after cold weather usage and I belive this has happend as I used the rear washer on a cold morning and it stopped working the same day. I've had the amp out and the wire block connection has whitefish marks on it. I've have not opend the unit yet though. Can I fix it with a clean or will I need a new amp? Or am I way off base ha ha? Cheers

Hi Folks, New Audi owner here...Black edition A6 Avant C7. Over the moon bar one or 2 issues...one being related to maps! Please help? I've scoured the internet for information and have some but i am a typical over thinker and as such, require confirmation and help on things before jumping in two-footed 😐 My physical location is well far off my GPS location. I am in Birmingham for example (UK) and the GPS thinks i am in Scotland. After reading around, i understand there is a water ingress issue with the shark fin arials on the C7's potentially..I want to ensure it's not just software before going down faulty hardware route - i need to establish this ASAP so that if it is hardware, i can take back to the dealer (which is a considerable distance from me, so i'd like to be sure). My question - How do i update maps myself? Local audi dealer has been useless... I can't even get in to talk to them. I have requested an audi connect code (another issue i've got as cannpot get connect services to work correctly) from them as i don't have the original one and it's hurdle after hurdle. Map updates too seem extortinate and would rather self-install in case that isn't the problem at all... My current MMI version is: MHI2_ER_AU57x_S2519_1 ..... I BELIEVE i need to update to MHI2_ER_AU57x_K3663 ....... I have found a few places online to download the files but i don't particularly trust them and want to be sure i get the correct version (i have read it differs depending on sound system and subtle changes to software code may need changing - I have Bose sound and if i'm reading in the correct places this means the update software is slightly different - can anyone confirm?)....So sorry for dragging this out, i guess my question is can anyone please advise on a suitable location to obtain the correct update files (other than audi) so i can investigate software vs hardware fault? Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and Hi, i'm Lewis 🙂 I like to get involved in online communities and having purchased an Audi very recently, i hope i can be part of this one and gain useful info as well as contribute what i know and discover along the way should it become relevant. Tinker by trade and love playing about with things (no dirty jokes please). BR, Lewis

Hello everyone. I am new to the world of Audi, picking up a new RS5 Coupe a couple of weeks ago. The handover from the salesman was fairly perfunctory; he connected my iPhone to the car and showed how to use some of the MMI features such as navigation but he didn't demonstrate some of the other features such as the News, Calendar and Weather apps. Can anyone explain how to set these features up? I might not use them but I hate to think there is something on the car that I can't use because I don't know how to. I've looked in the owners manual but I don't find it very useful.

Hi everyone, it’s been a while so many apologies for being away. Hope you’re all having a good start to the New Year. Just asking around...software updates for the A6. I know there is a new Navigation SD card update for my vehicle, but I was wondering whether there is any updates to the existing MMI system and Bluetooth. I have a 2016 (66 Plate) Audi A6 2.0 TDI Ultra 190PS S-Tronic. On the MMI system, the version information is as follows; Software Version: RMC_EU_P16092 Navigation Database Version: 8X0919884J - P32-50-15.03 Bluetooth Software Version: 3.70.3 I am just having issues with my Apple iPhone 8 Plus which connects normally but takes an age to start playing music from my Music Library. Sometimes when trying to play, the Bluetooth on the MMI which automatically switch the Discovery OFF or will turn the Bluetooth OFF. Audi Customer Service refused to believe there was any issue with the vehicle although advised me to see my local Audi Service Centre (which I have not done yet). I have since removed ALL paired devices, reset my Network data on the iPhone and started again. It connects a tad faster but it’s pretty much the same and when making phone calls, whether it’s a 3G or 4G call,I get a horrible scratching sound during the ringtone and during the call. I’ve had to cancel calls before because of the noise and poor signal. Im just enquiring to see if there are any updates and whether this will fix any issues I am experiencing. Thank you all for your time and assistance.

I have created a complete guide on how to upgrade MMI 2G and 3G to the latest version of the firmware - 5570. The key thing here is that in the tutorial I am showing you how to not brick your Bose AMP in the process. No special tools or VCDS required. If you use the links to download the updates the only thing that you will need is blank CDs. If you have any questions let me know. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cajxNC4TGo&t=0s

Hi All, hope everyone is keeping well. I have just had a Warranty repair carried out on my A6 Ultra with the MMI system and Navigation. Ever since I picked up the car in November 2016 (from new), the Navigation system has always been slow and laggy to a point where my previous Audi (2014 A4) seemed to have a much better system. For the past 18-months, the main issue is with the Bluetooth system, where at times, the Bluetooth in the car will either turn the Bluetooth OFF or will turn OFF the Discovery option. Also, when making calls, the echo, crackly and distorted calls can be so difficult to hear what's being said to a point where I have had to end the call, park up and use my iPhone without pairing to my MMI to continue the call. The original MMI version; Software - RMC_EU_P16092 / Navigation - 8X0919884J P32-50-15.03 / Bluetooth - 3.70.3 Upon investigation at the Audi Service Centre, they did find a fault with the Navigation SD card and I was informed the MMI needed a software update. A new Navigation SD card had to be ordered and it has now been recently fitted along with a MMI update to the version below; Software - RMC_EU_P16342 / Navigation 8X0919884J P32-50-15.03 / Bluetooth - 3.70.6 I cannot fault the Audi Service Centre for everything they have done, but I am still experiencing issues with the Bluetooth telephone calls with the distortion issues. I have an iPhone 8 Plus (iOS 12.3.2) and this is a replacement phone (from Apple) but my previous iPhone had the same issues. I have had a replacement SIM (3 Store) and since the MMI and Bluetooth updates, the Reception in the car is better but some calls are still affected by the crackling and distortion. This issue is very much intermittent. I have even made test calls in the car whilst using my iPad to record the sound so I can show the Audi Engineer, but every time I do this test, the phone calls are normal (how typical). Does anyone else have any iPhone-Bluetooth issues when making/receiving calls? I have no access to any other phone, so I cannot test this option.

Hi there, I have just received a Brand New Audi A3 Sportback and am loving it so far - I do have one niggle though, and hope it is something easily solved! I followed the setup and signed in using myAudi account and set myself up as a Key User etc. The only problem is on the app I get a 'Link vehicle' box saying that the 'Audi connect infotainment services are not yet linked to this vehicle. Please enter your myAudi address and your password in your vehicle's MMI.' As far as I am aware, I have done this when setting up, so I am not sure why I am not getting the options to remotely set the AC and remotely lock/unlock the Vehicle? It looks like I am linked to the vehicle as I can send destinations and get reads on whether it is locked/windows are open etc. Does anyone know how to link the infotainment services? I have tried factory resetting it, deleting and re-downloading the app to no avail.

Hi Just bought an audi a5 2012 sports back. Phone connects for phone calls via Bluetooth... Great job. But I'm absolutely blown away that I can't get any music to play. For a brand like audi and the spec I got I'm actually blown away. It's a simple thing.. Even back in 2012. There's not even a aux port. Any advice? I have that odd connection in the glove box.

Hi, Does anybody know how I can change the small display (as circled in the attached image) to show me how many miles remaining in my tank. I have tried to press the right stalk but that only resets the trip counter. I have also tried to hold the right stalk and it also resets the trip counter. I have tried pulling the right stalk and that does nothing. At the moment the display is showing me the speed, however I don't know how I got it to show this as previous it was showing ">ne<". Regardless, all I want to know is how to change this display to show me the fuel range. I am driving a 2006 Audi A3 2.0 TDI S Line. It comes with the multi function steering wheel and also the Audi Navigation Plus head unit. Not sure whether I use either of those to change it but if you guys could please help.

I am having playback issues with my android s10 and my Q7 mmi system. having bought the car in the last couple of weeks I have discovered that the Audi connect features are not all available on my 2106 model q7 so a lot of the functions on the 'my Audi' app are not active. whilst this is not a problem, I do use bluetooth heavily for calls and playing spotify. everything is connected as it should and despite working perfectly fine on the day I picked it up, it now stutters when playing media from spotify. sometimes the track will jump a second or so to catch up, but continues to jump around. not every time, but certainly enough to cause a nuisance. I've cleared the cache on the phone and deleted multiple times to no avail. has anyone had any experience with this type of problem before? voice calls are working as they should.

I have a 2008 S6 Avant with parking sensors in the front and also in the rear + rear camera. Till yesterday I also had the graphic display working fine and showing when I get close to an object. All of a sudden it stopped working... The rear camera is working and the sensors do give a tone when approaching an obstacle, but I don't get anything on the display. This morning I poked around with the settings in the MMI and saw that the graphic parking was disabled. I enabled it again, but nothing... After restarting the car it was switched off, which leads me to think there might be some fault in the system somewhere. However, with everything else working fine, I don't have a clue where to start checking. Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi Everyone! This is my first post on this forum and was hoping to get some help/advice on a problem on my 2014 A3 S-Line. I have recently just purchased this car and I am still getting to grips with the MMI etc. The car came with the Audi Music Interface cable to USB output and I thought I could use this to play music from my iPhone through the usb. When I plug my charging cable into the adapter it charges the phone but does not show on the MMI screen the iPod/iPhone as a playable media and says AMI is not connected. Bluetooth for my iPhone works great and I can play the music and make calls through this but would like the option to play through my usb too. Has anybody else experienced this problem and managed to get it resolved or have any suggestions on how I can get it to work? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
