Went to my first Audi show today, Vorsprung International at Market Harborough ‘showground’. Exhibitors were a bit thin on the ground compared to the VW shows I have been to in the past, with Abt importer Richter Automotive the biggest presence with three show cars. If anything, there was more to see in the various club parking areas. Who knew there could be so many variations on Audi club names! 🤔😉. Apologies for the Avantcentric photos, I was looking for inspiration for my own B9. The Avant on air below manages to make a roof box look cool. My choice from the Richter stand. The three cars on display were all for sale. Didn’t see the price of this RS6, but someone mentioned £120k. Seems legit. Can’t beat a V8 Dunno if I can decide if this is cringe or classy? These on the other hand are very desirable; the ceramic brakes and the Abt wheels. Plenty of Avants on display, more A6 than A4 though. 🤔 Maybe not everyone’s colour choice, but I liked it. Original RS4. Still want one. It wasn’t just about the modern stuff. Developed a soft spot for this little red NSU and I don’t think I have ever seen so many Ro80’s in one place! One of my all time favourite cars. Sport Quattro. Homologation special from Group B rallying. Still looks mint. Audi 100 low rider in the show n shine This 80’s throwback was pretty cool too. I wasn’t counting but I reckon the TT was the most represented Audi model at the show. Couple of engine bays on display here from the show n shine.

Selling for a friend. 2001 Audi TT roadster convertible. Very tidy example. Has had at some point, a professionally fitted audi sport body kit and re-spray. Overall very tidy bodywork for its age, especially the engine bay (I personally haven't seen such a clean engine bay on a 100k+ car before), there is a bubble of rust forming on the bootlid (visible in pic) and the wheels could do with a little tlc. Just had brand new starter motor, fuel sender unit, n/s/r tyre and a years MOT. It does have 2 little annoying issues. Firstly the electric roof doesn't open automatically. This seems to be a common tt issue, as the motor runs fine. And secondly it has a noisy thrust bearing, although It drives beautifully (I took it for a test drive myself recently). Also includes roof cover and full car cover. Offers considered And viewings welcome Chichester West Sussex

I'm looking to repaint my le mans alloys - Satin grey to silver
JackW posted a topic in Audi TT Club
Hi guys, New to the club! Picked up my 2011 TT 2.0 tsfi s-line black edition last week. Hopefully I've posted this in the right place, sorry if not! I love the car, but am not sure about the satin grey finish on the 19in le mans alloys. They need repairing as the fronts have been curbed, but I'm wondering if painting them silver is worth it. Was the satin grey a finish specific to the s-line/black edition? I don't think I want to paint over something that was essentially an optional extra from new! I'd be aiming to match the alloys up with the fuel filler cap, or there abouts. I think it'll make the car look much more modern against the blue. (Does anyone know which factory blue that is?) Sorry for the blurry, over saturated pic, it's from the seller's listing. Anyone have any thoughts for me? -
So you made it through part 1 ☺️ If not, then be sure to read that first, to see the outwards trip from the UK to Norway. https://www.audiownersclub.com/forums/topic/20587-great-britain-norway-storbritannia-norge-may-2022-part-1-of-3 Now, in part 2 we will see some of the adventures I got up to inside Norway for the 7 days that I was there! May 14- 2022: After waking up in a real bed, at a friend’s house in Vinstra, I was well rested. After 36 hours of driving to get there, finally being able to sleep did me a lot of good! The plan for today was threefold - Visit Otta Motorfestivalen, visit my friend’s parents house so that i could jack up the TT and remove the broken undertray, and finally: Eurovision! Otta Motorfestivalen was great, I would 100% recommend going to visit it (it will be going ahead again next year.. Road trip?) - upon entry I was greeted with an Audi S2 drifting : (video) FullSizeRender.MOV But there was a massive variety of cars, trucks, and even lorries on display at the event (cue the photo-dump): (The rest of the story continues below the photos, of course 🙂 ) Following on from the show, We then made our way to my friend’s parents house where I managed to remove and dispose of my under tray. I didn’t photograph the process, but if you read part 1 you’ll remember that it got destroyed on the Autobahn! Vinstra itself is a gorgeous small town, about an hour north of Lillehammer. I passed some of the time there by relaxing by the water (which eventually feeds lake Mjøsa, the biggest lake in Norway). I perfected the skill of balancing stones: And later that evening I relaxed whilst the UK did impressively well to come 2nd in the Eurovision Song Contest, beaten only by a well deserved win from Ukraine! Sadly I didn’t have a union-jack to wave at the TV as the votes came rolling in - but my friend handily provided me with a Norwegian flag 🇳🇴 😄 The following day, Sunday May 15th, Otta Motorfestivalen finished off at the Vinstra motorsports arena with some drag-racing, which was great to watch! Next year i might just have to enter the TT into the festival 😄 Ofcourse, the red S2 which was drifting yesterday managed to catch my eye straight away - it was the fastest car to run the 200m strip that day also! (Video) 95FAD668-6B21-4038-A563-63255C5ED905.MOV After this, as the day drew to a close, I said goodbye to my friend in Vinstra and headed southwards towards Hafjell. Known for its skiiing (in the winter), hafjell is a beautiful town only around 15 minutes north of Lillehammer. It is also around a 5 minute drive from the Norsk Vegmusieum (the Norwegian road museum) - however it had closed by the time i got there, and was not due to reopen until Wednesday it doesn’t open on Monday/Tuesday. Sadly i didnt get to visit it this time - I did manage to get there last September but only for around an hour; I’ve been meaning to go back since. My sister, who has no interest in cars, declined the offer to go there when we went to Norway in February 😂 That night in Hafjell, the employee of the local Circle K gas station recommended a good road for me to drive up to get a nice view of Mjøsa. Now might be a good time to point out that Norway is absolutely stunning - and iPhone photos simply can’t do justice to the sheer scale and beauty of the landscape, on display in every direction! Later that evening, after safely having some 250BHP-Quattro fun on the gravel roads on the mountain, I headed back to Hafjell where I camped in the back of the TT for the first time on the trip. Yes, you did read that right - I slept in the back of the TT 😂 (video proof): 91E35383-801A-48A4-BD33-42342B8F8A51.MOV But wow, what a view to wake up to.. wiping the fog off of the windscreen to see the beauty of Hafjell! If you’re wandering why my side windows are completely blacked out by this point - I have some black sticky plastic covers for them for sleeping with - from the inside, its completely blacked out to aid with sleeping. But to onlookers it just looks like a questionable tint, making it much less obvious that the car is occupied. After walking around Hafjell for a while, soaking up the sun and the natural beauty of the landscape, I headed down to Lillehammer where I checked into the Scandic hotel - which would be my new home for the next two nights! Lillehammer really, truly, is my favourite place in the world. My first stop-off was the Toppen Skybar at the Mølla hotel. They make the best Passionfruit Martini anywhere in the world (in my opinion). And the view is stunning too! The first day in Lillehammer was pretty chill after this, and after my stop at the cocktail bar, driving was off the cards - which is OK, as long as you’re good with walking up hills, Lillehammer is completely accessible on foot. Right the way down from the water, where the shopping centre is, up to the Olympic Park. Just bring comfy shoes! The following day, May 17, is the national day of norway. It is a very special day where the whole country celebrates its independence, and people wear their national dress (the Bunad). There are different parades, parties, and lots of celebrating. And classic cars, too! If you ever get the chance to be in Norway on the 17th, you should 100% experience it! 1EF7A1AC-0F2C-4498-A019-2D1FEC183120.MOV After waking around the parades for a bit and soaking up the atmosphere, you bet I also had to decorate the TT with more Norwegian flags than usual (I do usually have at least one on the car anyway) CCE89425-1DD7-41F3-8FC0-2312B78714FD.MOV After this, I headed down to the park in Lillehammer, where I sat out and soaked up the atmosphere - as well as the sun-tan-rays 😂 That night it was back to the Lillehammer Scandic 🙂 The next day, May 18th, I headed down to Hamar, the biggest city in Innlandet. It was a pretty place, however I’d recommend going in the summer when more is open - they have several bars along the waterfront that just aren’t open until the weather gets warmer! I had a pretty chill day in Hamar, relaxing and eating my 13p spaghetti hoops and baked beans from Tesco 😂 That night I stayed in the Clarion hotel in Hamar, and begun to consider how I was going to return home at the end of the trip, with no money, which was coming up scarily fast! The next morning (19th), I woke up late and missed my free breakfast at the hotel. So instead I made my way to the shopping centre in Hamar where I ate a Subway lunch. It was here where I was deciding how to spend my remaining time in Norway. I had no idea what I wanted to do, only that I wanted to head south towards Kristiansand, where the ferry I’d booked out of norway was based (part 3 spoiler). Suddenly, thanks to modern day social networking, my answer arrived. Armed with just an address, I jumped in the TT and drove about 3 hours south - into the countryside somewhere between Oslo and the Swedish border. upon arrival, I knew I’d made the right choice! I was greeted by an absolutely amazing person, who wholeheartedly 100% agreed that the steering wheel on British cars is in fact on the correct side 😂 (she will read this later, and she may remind me that she didn’t quite say those words in that order 😂) After we got the steering wheel debate agreed upon, she led me to some beautiful places around the countryside in the area - we visited an old lookout spot, complete with tunnels between rooms that you can still actually walk through! Sadly I left my phone in the car (norway is safe so no risk there), it does however mean I didn’t get any pictures of it! After spending some great time here, we went to a fantastic steak house, which had big windows inside that overlooked an indoor horse riding arena, which was super cool! I will certainly be going back there in the very near future!! ☺️ Shortly after this, I had to say a sad goodbye to the super amazing person (for now at least), as I had to continue down to Kristiansand before tomorrow. The views on the way to Kristiansand as the sun was setting were amazing! (Hands free body mounted picture, not taken by hand, that would be illegal 🙂) Once I reached Kristiansand, for the final time on the trip, i slept in the TT! This is the view i woke up to.. not bad considering it was completely dark when i parked there so didn’t know which way to point the car for the best view 😁 Shortly after waking up, I made my way to the ferry terminal, which is where we will leave off part 2 and head to part 3, coming later this week - where we will discover how I managed to get a 3.2L V6 gas guzzler back home to the UK with barely any fuel money left 🙂 Ha det bra - for now 🙂

Hi all, Im considering buying an Audi TT S- line on around 50-60k miles and a 2009-2011 plate depending on what I find and was looking for some advice on what to look out for specifically when on a test drive and when inspecting the car? Thinking of the 2.0 TFSI engine - a there any common faults with this engine I should be aware of or any engine types I should consider? Also are there any major services I should check have been done? Are these cars generally reliable? If someone could also confirm when the facelift starts that would be good to see if I could stretch to one of those? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to end up with a pretty lemon! Cheers, Ken

Good morning all, just posting on behalf of my wife as she has just had an issue with her 09 Audi TT 2.0 TDI. Whilst driving in a normal manner through town, the engine died suddenly, no juddering to indicated that it stalled, just completely cut out. she tried to start the engine again to no avail. she then removed the key from the ignition, re-inserted it and the car started fine only for the issue to happen about 10 mins later. i took the car to work this morning with no issues, as she was afraid that it would cut out on a round-about, i think that she just wanted to drive my S6, but hey ho. has anybody experienced anything like this before/have any ideas about a possible cause, i thought that it might be something as simple as the battery in the key fob is dying so the immobiliser is cutting the engine as it isn't receiving a signal. any help/info would be greatly appreciated. regards Paul

Alloys have just been treated to a full refurbishment with full corrosion protection applied, they are now immaculate. For those not aware of some of the difference between a QS and a standard 225: The QS was the only TT to be built by Quattro GmbH in Germany Only 800 QS models available in the UK, of which this is number 080 Enhanced power 240 bhp - 5.7sec 0-60 18" 15 spoke staggered alloys unique the the QS Rear seats deleted to reduce weight, replaced with a rear strut brace No spare wheel & battery relocated the the boot Uprated suspension Alcantara covered steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake plus Quattro Sport decal on glovebox V6 front bumper, rear honeycomb valance & V6 spoiler Black exhaust tips Test drives will be carried out by myself only (no test pilots allowed). Running 266bhp with dyno print out. - Quattro Sport engraved manifold cover - Genuine Porsche coolant & oil caps - Liquid gauge mounted in air vent (shows data such as oil temperature, boost pressure, etc) - Xcarlink iPhone connection fitted to headhunt to allow music to be played on standard unit As always with a car of this age, there are the occasional signs of use such as the odd stone chip. The alcantara steering wheel is slightly worn and could definitely benefit from a retrim. The seats are in 9/10 condition and have slight signs of use. Other than this, the car drives faultlessly and is perfect in every area. Overall, this is genuinely brilliant car that has been an absolute pleasure to own. It looks brilliant, drives brilliant and sounds even better. Reason for sale is the purchase of a new car - genuinely bought the car as I have always loved these since I was young and have wanted the pleasure of owning one in such an immaculate condition. Bank transfer only please. No other method of payment will be accepted and the car will only be released upon receipt of cleared funds.

Wet carpet passenger side - 2013 TTS Roadster. It’s not blocked drain pipes on the little trays under the hood mechanism. The windows seem nice and tight up to the hood. The drain holes in the doors are clear. Nonetheless, every time it rains the passenger side carpet seems a little wetter! Any ideas? Not too technical please ...

Good morning all, As per the topic title. I am looking to buy a TT and would like to research what to look for and what to avoid. What is the 'avoid' mileage cut off point on a second hand TT? Any common faults to look out for? What model would you suggest? What would be a reasonable amount to spend, per model, for a clean car. You get the idea, I would really appreciate any input you guys could give me. Please redirect me to an existing post if easier. Many thanks in advance, looking forward to showing off my new purchase when I have done my research. Cheers all, Luke

I have had a 2017 TTRS since November 2017. Throughout this time the rear hub covers have rusted... they have been in the garage to be rubbed down and re-strayed 3 times already, roughly at 6 monthly intervals. Has anyone else had this issue? The rear discs and pads now need replacing due to being contaminated and pitted by the rust debris. Cheers

Set of 8 speedline wheels from a mk2 onwards audi TT 5x112 18x8 52offset These are genuine speedline not replicas. 4 were refurbed bronze and wrapped in R888 rubber but a truck wrote my car off while it was parked so 3 wheels remain. Although the 4th is included as it may be repairable. The tyres have been removed and sold. The other 4 have had a rubbish black paint refurb and will need redoing. There are no tyres on these. Tyres that will come with the wheels are 3 x 235 40 18 nankangs 2 x 225 40 18 generics. All have centre caps and all wheels are straight with the exception of the one bronze wheel. Looking for sensible offers for all 8 wheels and 5 tyres Any audi owner will know what these are worth. Somewhere between 100 and 300 per wheel refurbished but I realise the black ones need painting so reflect that in your offers. Pictures of each wheel to follow. Some for now..

Hi All, I am new to the forum, so apologies if this is in the wrong section. Also new to Audi ownership, love the car but one of the first issues I had was finding a phone mount suitable for the car. Especially since I did not like those that obstruct the windscreen! Came across one specially designed for Audi's. Variants are made for the A3, TT and Q2. https://www.audiphoneholder.com/ Purchased this product myself and very happy so wanted to raise awareness to anyone who may be in the market for one. Hi Everyone. I have recently purchased a Q7 and I am now looking to buy either a TT or A4 Cabriolet AUTO. Given my budget the age-range of these would be from 2003-2006 I Imagine. By the sounds of it the biggest issue with these cars is the cambelt, just wondering if some Audi experts can give some advice whether these models/age would be worh pursuing given the issues. Thanks

Hey guys, this is my first post here so bear with me! So in a bid to get a bit more mechanical knowledge I've decided to (try to) rebuild an engine. The 1.8T found in the S3/A3 8L to be exact! So my end goal is to clean out, strip and rebuild the engine but I also want it to be improved. I was thinking of the future and I would like to fit it into an A3 Quattro to make a sort of road legal race car! So I was thinking of rebuilding the engine with forged internals, getting a better turbo and generally just making it better from the basics. Money isn't really an object as I want to do it as a project when I get chance which will usually be on weekends. Now for the bad news: My mechanical skills go about as far as servicing the car and fitting aftermarket parts such as exhausts, filters, etc. Although I know how an internal combustion engine works, I have no idea what a lot of people mean when they are on about honed boring and all that stuff. I have no clue if it improves the engine or what. So I guess overall I have three questions: Where could I start? Is there a book someone can recommend. List what tools I'll need and generally how difficult it will be. Is it worth putting it in an A3 since it will be completely rebuilt or is it worth getting an S3 to put it in? I'm not 100% sure of the differences in terms of suspension and brakes between the two! Generally I don't care about that stuff since it will all be more than likely replaced anyway as I build the car up afterwards. Is there another engine you recommend to put into the A3 instead? I was only thinking the 1.8T since it's built for the car and it would be easier for me being a beginner! Any help will be greatly appreciated and I look forward to becoming an active member of the forum and getting to know you all! Josh
