Hi all, I have had a 2015 Q7 4.2L V8 for the last 4 years, lovely car but I am at the stage of wanting a bit more from it OR deciding just to upgrade. I am looking for recommendations into tuning modifications in or around the Essex area. Any help much appreciated.
  2. Hi everyone, I am new both to this forum and Audi. I recently purchased a 2015 SQ5 and wanted to know if anyone had any recommendations for remapping suppliers. On my previous two cars (non Audi) I used DMS Automotive which i was happy with however they are a little on the pricey side. Any suggestions? Many thanks, Kapil
  3. 1. More Easily Changing Wheels Changing wheels on your own is never easy work for European cars (BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche…). When removing and installing wheels that utilize the factory wheel bolts the process can be frustrating, holding the wheel up with your legs, lining up the holes, and threading the bolts all at the same time. What’s worse, on a rainy day, at the high-speed roadside or other harsh environments, it is hard to align the holes, can easily get mad when trying again and again, but fail again and again. Compared with the Japanese cars (Honda, Toyota…), the studs are mounted in the hub and stuck out beyond the brake rotor hat. The wheels are mounted using lug nuts, which are screwed onto the studs. This makes it easier to disassemble and assemble wheels without having to worry about lining everything up. By using the wheel studs conversion, you can make the European cars (BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche…) “transform” into the form of the Japanese cars (Honda, Toyota…), so it is called “conversion”. 2. For Wheel Spacers Needs For some situations, such as widening the wheelbase, or changing to a larger brake caliper, if the rotor hat cannot pass the brake caliper, the wheels won’t be fastened tightly, which cause an accident. In such a case, wheel spacers must be added. By correcting the offset, truly guarantee safety. After installing wheel spacers, the factory wheel bolts will not be long enough, reducing the number of laps for threading. In the case of intense driving, it will cause kinds of security issues. Meanwhile, the length of the stud conversion can be customized flexibly, which makes it possible to install different offset aftermarket wheels. 3. The Aggressive Appearance By installing a stud conversion kit, you can use wheel lug nuts. On the market, there is numerous lug nuts style, some of them are really pretty and cool. How to install them on your BMW, Audi, VW, or Porsche? The studs conversion will do the job perfectly. Besides, the nuts can be replaced more flexibly, such as wheel lock nuts, lightweight and high-strength nuts. These lug nuts make your car look more manly and aggressive. 4. Hi all, I was wondering if anyone has used a tuning box or Pedal box on a 1.0 litre TFSI engine at all? would this engine even be able to take it? I know a remap would be better but I don't want to void the warranty. Any comments/ experiences?
  5. I’m planning to remap my Audi A3 2.0 TDI 8P and also at some point install a K&N Induction Kit. I was wondering if anybody could give me advice on whether there’s any benefits of installing these in a particular order? (i.e. remap then induction kit or induction kit then remap)? Or does it even matter at all? thanks in advance.
  6. HI ALL So I'm back with the same dilemma! I've been looking into getting the race chip module for my Audi 2.7TDI for fuel economy as this car drinks with 2 straws! Its killing me on fuel to the point I want to sell the car!! Is it worth putting in a racechip to help the fuel economy as I dont want to remap the whole car and dont want to sell it either as it's my pride and joy!! But if the car has to go I've got no choice so anyone interested lol! Any help and suggestions will be much appreciated!
  7. Hi all. I had my MRC stage 2 with stronic remap done a few months back and have now had time to settle in to it and do some 0-60 testing. Its my DD and i usually poodle around getting 28mpg according to the on board computer. This hasn't really changed but i'm not sure how its calculated and probably doesn't factor in the additional fuel burn as a result of the modifications. However, 300+ miles is the norm per tank. Cost - Very reasonable at £1600 all in. process - nice and easy. I just dropped the car off and it was done in a few hours. The Dyno showed 485 before losses!! The acceleration is amazing and the car just pulls and pulls. The sound of the supercharger is awesome but takes some getting used to. I ran some times on my VBOX sport as below : Weather was dry, elevation varying a little and i had 3/4 tank of fuel. Run 1 - 4.03 ESC on Run 2 - 4.06 - ESC 0n Run 3 - 3.89 - ESC off Run 4 - 3.87 - ESC off Run 5 - 3.64 - LC - This run had a very slight incline of 2m. On a strip, I think it would go to 3.5 or better. Its a completely different car but there are a few negatives; 1. Warranty could be affected. I only have a few months left anyway 2. Insurance is higher. Due to the BHP increase, mine increased from £385 to £600 3. Increased risk of drivetrain failure if you drive like a plank. 4. Might affect value when you come to sell. I think you need to keep mileage down and demonstrate meticulous maintenance. I'll be selling my Vbox sport once i have a few more times if anyone fancies one!
  8. Hi guys Ive just had a few upgrades completed on my Audi a5 2.0tfsi 7 speed s-tronic 2013 model. My TCU for the gearbox has been tuned and so has the engine ECU with a new device that they indicated hadn't been fully released yet to the public and the results are truly amazing. I spoke to JF Automotive who advised they could tune my gearbox and engine ecu with a new device that they could pop in the post. It's a self downloading module all done via the diagnostic port and it took only a couple of minutes to complete good instructions. The gear changes are dead on now,the throttle lift then shift is almost unnoticeable. Now super quick gear changes up and down and masses more engine power that pulls with ease to red line. Before it had a very big flat spot higher in the rev ranges which has completely disappeared. Amazing change to my car and the little niggles from the engine and gearbox are gone! Normal drive is soo much better without having to go into sport. Cant rate this enough in all honesty. I think JFA are taking orders on their new device very soon , www.jfautomotive.co.uk Paul
  9. I have had to sell the R8, but not before taking the Plate off. I want it to go to a good home. Makes the car look even more amazing. Vehicle Registration Mark is currently being held on DVLA Retention Document - V778 - (Assignment fee has already been paid for easy transfer to new owner). Both plates can be supplied I paid over £1000 for the plate a couple years back, and im sure it will have gone up in value. If you make me an offer you could get yourself a good investment.
