Hello Guys, Complete newbie here, apologies this question has probably been asked 100s of times, ive done some reading but cant find an answer help required !! Ive just got myself a 2014 Audi A5, black edition, Quattro, flat bottom steering wheel, 7 speed auto, flappy paddle, bang and olusfen sound system, a few nice bits, so I thought I was getting a decent spec Audi, I fell into the trap of not getting the MMI 3g+. I was disappointed that it only comes with the Audi Concert system, with media interface, I can't even stream music via bluetooth. What options do I have to stream music via bluetooth ? Ive have read a few owners have purchased the £95.00 ami to bluetooth adapters but they haven't worked, as you can appreciate £95.00 for something not to work would be a hard pill to swallow. Have any owners overcome this issue with a working solution for a car simmilar spec and age ? Thanks In advance ! regards Aaron

Helllooooo... Wondering if someone can help as i seem to be getting nowhere with my local Audi garage.. We bought the black edition purely as its petrol (seem petrol is rare down our way)and for the banging B&O system as we love our music. In our car however theres a wired AMI connection in the glove box and its driving us crazy.. To cut a long story short we use the iphone cable for the music but we see problems every single day and sometimes it doesnt work at all. The issues vary from not recognising a cable or device at all, to freezing. Over the months we have gone through various genuine audi AMI iphone cables, and settled on an iphone extension lead as to take the pressure of the audi cable as i suspected at first the constant wear and tear was causing the problem. This works but we still have the problems regardless of using this extension to the genuine audi cable directly. Seeing as Audi have had the car for a whole day and not found a fault they are now leaning on the outcome that as the car gets older and the phones get newer, compatibility will drop and there isnt anything they can do grrrr.. So this leads me to my real questions from some audi experts... 1) IF we upgrade to an aftermarket head unit what happens to the high screen in the dash, will we lose this? 2) if we upgrade to an aftermarket head unit with say Apple Car Play functionality, how does this effect the high screen in terms of displaying the vehicle graphics such as parking sensors, heating controls, general menus for adjusting car settings etc? 3) I have considered adding a bluetooth receiver to the USB AMI cable to eliminate the physical connection all together, can anyone confirm this is a good idea bearing in mind the car uses bluetooth for the phone? Really hope someone has some good ideas!

Good afternoon Guys, Maybe you can help me stop going round in circles. I'm collecting a 2012 Audi A5 S-Line on Saturday after deciding to trade in my 2007 Lexus 220d. Really like the car, love the way it drives and feels, love the boot hatch etc.... However I'm going nuts trying to work out how and what Apple products attach to the stereo. It's fitted with the Audi Concert system which I believe is the base model. That said, it has the 30pin iPod connection in the glove box. As I am not a fan of Apple products, I am only guessing that this is for the older Apple products. The Lexus I would stream Spotify through the Bluetooth system so it wasn't an issue but I have got used to having no CD's in the car and love having a huge library, including play lists in the car. I have tried speaking to the local Audi dealership who I have to say where worse than useless and tried to flog me a cable at £52.50 plus vat and then a bodge connector at a further £29 plus vat. Honestly? I left with the impression the guys didn't have a clue. So, would an iPod Nano 6th Generation work in here? Or would I be better off buying a 7th gen and an Apple Lightning to 30pin adapter?

Hello everyone. I'm awaiting my A3 (2010) Black Edition which has RNS-E(?) installed. When I sat in it, there was a "plughole" for an audi cable (in the glove box from memory) which allows ipod control but I couldn't find the cable itself anywhere. The dealership says it's included but if it isn't, i'll need a new one .....problem is, which one? Firstly, being a 2010 car, will iphone/ipod track and info appear on the display? Will I be able to control it fully from the steering wheel? Secondly, if yes, then to do this what do I need? Question 1: I think the first option should work, but for more flexibility, would option 2 be OK with a standard Apple charging cable plugged into that -- i.e. would I still retain full control of the iPod with the ability to also control USB sticks if needed instead? This option gives me the widest flexibilty. Question 2: In future, if I upgrade to a newer iPod, would I also be able to simply add an iPod adapter to either option 1 or add my standard lightning charging cable to option 2 to convert to lightning equipped phones and have full control or do I need a completely new/different MMI to lightning cable? Ideally i'd like the MMI - USB cable so that I can (hopefully) plug any android or apple phone or USB stick in and get full control - I just need to know it will work before I order it (or get the dealer to provide it). Thanks for any help. P.S. I haven't recieved the car yet and this is my first Audi so I think it's an RNS-E satnav installed but may be wrong. I posted an intro in the "New members introductions" section and put a photo of the unit in the cabin in there so you can see what it comes with...

Hi, I'm hoping someone else has encountered this problem! I've recently purchased the 2008 Model A5. Came with the MMI system but doesn't allow USB/SD capabilities. It features AUX under the arm rest but I've never been a fan of AUX and the fact I can't control this through the car. Is there any way of connecting a wire to the MMI system from behind or something that can allow me to install a USB cable. I have heard there is a CDC port at the back of this, so what can be done with this? Also, does the MMI have a built in hard drive that I can tap into? How do I store music on this and how can I then have access to it? Hope you can help!
