  1. I purchased a 2015 Audi A4 B8.5 S-line in Januray this year (2023) and have not had any problems until the past month or so. I've noticed that the MMI has begun freezing, and the only way to get it to work again is to reset the MMI using the three button reset mehod, and even after resetting, the screen will then stay black for a period of time. Sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes for the screen to turn back on. I have tried turning off the ignition, removing the keys and waiting a few minutes when the screen freezes, however the MMI will stay turned on with the frozen screen unless I reset. This does not happen in any particular menu screen. I can be in the radio, media, navigation, or any other menu and it will still freeze. If the radio is on or music is playing from my phone via bluetooth, this will stop playing and the screen will freeze. Pressing any buttons does nothing apart from the 3 button reset method. This can happen 2 minutes after turning the car on, or 30+ minutes into a drive. I have updated my firmware to the latest version (HN+_EU_AU3G_K0942_3) and initially thought this was resolved, however the MMI still freezes. Has anyone else experienced an issue like this, or is there anything more I can check? All I have do so far is update the firmware. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
  2. Hi Audi Fans, I just bought an Audi A4 1.4 TFSI 2017 (Automatic) few months ago. I noticed that the car is consuming and eating too much gas. I commuted so far 2160 KM and I had to fill-up the tank 4 times so far. I decided to watch the consumption while driving and see what consumption is and I was shocked when I looked at the numbers. On residential areas (low speed - city), the consumption is 20 L / 100 KM (14.12MPG)! On highway driving on avg of 100 KM / h, the consumption can be the least 8.9 L / 100 KM (32 MPG). I went to different mechanics and most of them are saying thats pretty normal but I don't believe them. so I decided to drive my friend's car which is completely the same, I noticed that his car is making maximum of 6.8 L / 100 KM on low speeds. Any ideas what could be the root causes of this issue? I checked already the tyre pressure, the fuel is EUR 95 and both cars are filling-up from the same station.
  3. Hi all, my Audi A4 drives normally but every so often it judders and pops up with ESC and ABS fault, Parking brake fault. When I turn the engine off and on again, usually the lights and warnings disappear. On two occasions, it did all the above and also said gearbox malfunction and wouldn't change out of first gear (it's an Auto gearbox and it wouldn't even let me change with the paddles) anyone had anything similar or know what the issue may be?? Diagnostic came back with nothing🙄
  4. Hello everyone, Just bought an 2010 Audi A4 however the previous owner (for some reason) decided to spray the dash trim a bright red.... I want to return this to original but not sure where to source these parts or not sure if i can maybe spray it myself to a similar colour as original? Any suggestions are more than welcomed !   5. Hi everyone, just wondering should I change my cam belt and water pump this year or leave it for a year or two. I have a 66 reg (September) A4 ultra SE with 64,250 miles on the clock. I will have the car 1 year in June(57k when I got it) I spoke to Audi and they recommend a change after 5 years or 140k but I have researched it a bit and many people say that with average miles it wouldn't need to be done yet even after it hits 5 years. Audi have quoted £599 plus free Mots for the life of the car and it's a 3 hour round trip to them. My local indi which has a good rep can do it for about £300 ish plus vat so Ill head there whenever I decide. Thank you for reading this and I look forward to any replies given.
  6. Hey everyone, So my friend recently joined the Audi gang with his Audi A4 45 TFSI Black Edition. I must say that I found the screen inside very responsive and clear.   7. Hi all, I have been looking for an aftermarket dipstick for my Audi A4 1.8t 2010 B8. But I can't seem to find one that will fit my pre-facelift Audi A4 1.8T B8 Engine. Has anyone encountered the same issue and could possibly point me in the right direction? thanks Adam
  8. Hi everybody I am looking for a honest and reliable garage in and around Kingston to service my 7 year old Audi A4. I have sent it to Wimbledon Audi a couple of times, but somehow I feel they are a ripoff. Just to add, my car is an Audi A4 SE Technik TDI Quattro Diesel. I bought it for new in 2016, when it was 3 years old (I am the 2nd owner). I wonder if I need to do a cambelt change too? Do I need a Major service? I had it last serviced in Oct 2018 when it had done approx 35k miles. Right now its at 45.5k miles. so just under 10k miles in 2 years. Mostly its short drives around or max 1 or 2 hours on the odd occasion. Thanks!
  9. Hello everyone I'm new to all this forums thing and thought I would give it a go. Hope you are all well with these unusual situations. Now down to business I'm a kia ceed(2007) 1.4P owner and very happy with it but decided to look into buying an Audi A3 or A4 (2010-2013)and wanted to read your opinions on them. The engines of topic is 1.2-2.0 Tfsi engines. Which is more reliable? Which has better fuel consumption? What things should I be looking at when viewing them any common issues? I read that oil consumption on some of these engines are high. Anyone able to give me a hand and clear some of these things.   11. I have owned my a4 for 6 months, the other day it won’t let me go into my car settings. It displays on the screen “ the car system settings are not available” I’ve tried a factory reset with no luck.

The engine was fully rebuilt 26,913 miles ago as the orignal turbo failed hence i decided to fully rebuild with new uprated Turbo and compenents , so this engine only really has 26,913 many miles on it. The overall mileage of the car is 189,913. The thermostat needs to be replaced for the heating. Any inspection / Passenger Test Drive welcome. Only selling as i have bought another car now.   13. HI ALL So I'm back with the same dilemma! I've been looking into getting the race chip module for my Audi 2.7TDI for fuel economy as this car drinks with 2 straws! Its killing me on fuel to the point I want to sell the car!! Is it worth putting in a racechip to help the fuel economy as I dont want to remap the whole car and dont want to sell it either as it's my pride and joy!! But if the car has to go I've got no choice so anyone interested lol! Any help and suggestions will be much appreciated!
  14. Hi guys Just recently bought a 2008 A4 TFSI. Previously had a Passat 1.9 TDI (03 plate). I know Petrol cars generally give you less mileage than Diesels but didn't expect it to be this juicy. I usually put in £40 from empty and got around 250 city miles in the passat but the Audi is giving me around 180. So 70 miles less in a car which is 5 years newer. Does this seem about right?
  15. I had quite a bad car crash in my Audi A4 resulting in it being classed at a Category B write off stated below is the guide to CAT B Body shell should be crushed. Signifies extensive damage, although some parts are salvageable. Should never re-appear on road, although reclaimed parts can be used in other road-going vehicles. I was driving in the right hand lane of a 40mph two lane carriageway, a white van was in the left lane, without looking he veered into my lane hit my passenger side, resulting in my car hitting concrete posted signs head on, and ripping them out, my car then ended up in a ditch, thankfully I wasn't too hurt, my issue I'm quite concerned about is that none of my airbags deployed, if they had I wouldn't have the injuries I do. I'm in communication with Audi already but I wonder if anyone thinks like me after seeing my photos, they should have deployed. Audi are investigating the issue. I would just like some opinions while I'm waiting for them to get back to me. Photos are attached

  17. Hello Everyone, First off, I want to say I'm sorry if I've posted into the wrong section. I'm relatively quite new to being on forums. I have a question about repairs and warranty, specifically, what's covered under it. I have an approved used Audi A4 2.0 TDI with just over 1 year left on the warranty (purchased with special offer giving 2 years warranty instead of 1) Audi Service Centre have identified two faults on my car: Rear passenger door lock is faulty (I'm aware of this and mentioned it to them when I took it in) and the fuel flap is faulty. They've told me that I have to pay for these to be replaced. Does anyone know if these faults are covered under warranty? I've read through the Ts&Cs of their Warranty but it doesn't specifically exempt the faults they've mentioned from being covered under warranty. This is my first time owning a car, so I am clueless when it comes to this stuff and don't want to pay for something I shouldn't have to. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!
  18. I'm a new owner. Middle of August I bought a used Audi A4 Avant 2.0TDI (start-stop). Its on a 3 month warranty from the non-Audi dealership I got it from. 65k, full Audi service history, new cam belt and water pump, oil service, MOTd, AA 128-point inspection. 1,500 miles later, wheel bearing and air filter. Done under warranty, no problems. 68,000 miles (mainly motorway) and today the engine "emission control system" warning light came on. The light is yellow, solid (not flashing). The manual says "if the indicastor lamp lights up or flashes a malfunction has occurred which can reduce the quality of the exhaust gas and damage the catalytic converter" It goes on t say "Drive slowly to a qualified workshop without delay and have the fault rectified. My local AUDI dealership closes at lunchtime on Saturday otherwise I'd be down there asking them to diagnose it. It'll have to wait to next week. can I drive the car at all until then? Does anyone know whether this is common, cheap, expensive etc? All steers grateful received. I have been told that my car is one of those affected by VW's dirty tricks. Could that possibly be connected? Cheers
  19. Hi New to the Audi forum so be gentle! Had my A4 (B7) for about 6 months, it's my first Audi and I love it! But now I think it's time for some mods.. I was thinking things like Air intake, BOV and so on.. don't want to go too crazy Can anyone recommend anywhere online to get parts etc? Also I have found an Air intake kit but is for a 2.0L where mine is a 1.8T would this fit okay do you reckon?

  21. Hey Guys, I've recently had the Emission Control System light on my dashboard turn on and stay lit in my Audi A4 Cabriolet (2004, V6). I've read the fault codes but am not that knowledgable so was hoping you guys knew what I'd have to expect if I were to bring it down to a mechanic.   22. I've got a problem with my a4 2L 170 se. It randomly goes in to limp mode. All of the fault codes point to the turbo but i had it removed and tested and the fault couldnt be re created. the car will run fine for a while, this could be days or weeks and then randomly goes spazzy!!!!! I'm thinking its maybe a sensor from the turbo, any one who has any ideas please let me know because its frustrating the hell out of me.
