tyre replacement AUDI A4 Avant (2019) spare tyre question

Hi all, I’m new to the forum. I would appreciate your help. I’ve just bought an A4 Avant 40TFSI. It’s a 2019 model, bought used from the local Audi dealer. As most of you know, newer Audis don’t come with a spare wheel (not even a space saver one). The only thing supplied is an inflatable kit which is pretty much useless and it also ruins the tyre if used, which means you have to purchase a new tyre every time you have a puncture. I have asked the dealer if I can order a space-saver tyre. He made some enquiries and the response was: “AUDI are not sure if it’s possible and also if it will even fit, as modifications might be needed. If you have a puncture, call breakdown service!”. Not sure what to think of that… Apparently the reason AUDI have removed the spare tyre is to reduce emissions… I drive a lot for work and it wold be very inconvenient to call breakdown service and wait to be towed to the nearest garage just to repair a puncture. I’d like to be able to put the spare tyre on and carry on with my journey. The tyres are 245/40/R19 (19 inch alloys). I had a look online and it seems that the Hankook T125/70/R19 space saver tyre is the one suited for this size. The only problem is that the boot space is very tight. There is potentially some room if I remove the pump box (which I will happily do if I can fit the spare tyre there), but the rectangular battery might be a problem, as it seems to obstruct the round shape of the tyre. Also, the battery cables run through the grooves and are not easy to move / bend. I took a photo to give you an idea of the space. Before I go ahead and purchase a tyre I wanted to ask if anyone had the same problem and if you have found a solution, i.e if it’s possible to fit a space saver tyre over the battery (and if so, are there any mods or extra components required ). Went to my first Audi show today, Vorsprung International at Market Harborough ‘showground’. Exhibitors were a bit thin on the ground compared to the VW shows I have been to in the past, with Abt importer Richter Automotive the biggest presence with three show cars. If anything, there was more to see in the various club parking areas. Who knew there could be so many variations on Audi club names! 🤔😉. Apologies for the Avantcentric photos, I was looking for inspiration for my own B9. The Avant on air below manages to make a roof box look cool. My choice from the Richter stand. The three cars on display were all for sale. Didn’t see the price of this RS6, but someone mentioned £120k. Seems legit. Can’t beat a V8 Dunno if I can decide if this is cringe or classy? These on the other hand are very desirable; the ceramic brakes and the Abt wheels. Plenty of Avants on display, more A6 than A4 though. 🤔 Maybe not everyone’s colour choice, but I liked it. Original RS4. Still want one. It wasn’t just about the modern stuff. Developed a soft spot for this little red NSU and I don’t think I have ever seen so many Ro80’s in one place! One of my all time favourite cars. Sport Quattro. Homologation special from Group B rallying. Still looks mint. Audi 100 low rider in the show n shine This 80’s throwback was pretty cool too. I wasn’t counting but I reckon the TT was the most represented Audi model at the show. Couple of engine bays on display here from the show n shine.

For Audi 80 restorers/enthusiasts: I have a pair of roof rails for sale from an Audi 80 Avant, mid 90s. These are the longitudinal rails (160cm long) on which roof racks, luggage bars etc are attached. There are a some scratches but overall they are in OK condition, and they come with the fitting screws. They are located in north-east London. Any decent offer accepted.

Have just received our A6 Avant back from the body shop after some repairs, and have noticed that the retractable luggage cover is only sliding back about a third of the way. It moves up and down fine when the boot opens and closes, although only the first third. Is there a trick to resetting this? I called Audi and they suggested holding the boot close button for about 10 seconds to reset, which I didn't think would work as I'd just seen a video on another forum about using that to set the boot height. Any help appreciated.

Hi everyone! Looking for an Audi A4 B6 Avant Quattro with the 1.9 PD130 engine for sale. Ideally located in Scotland or north of England as I myself am located in north east Scotland. Now then guys, wondered if anyone would be interested in an Audi shell that I'm selling, 1250£ for the lot (ONO), it's a 55 plate good condition, only thing wrong with it is that the glove box needs renewing as both clips are broken and the ashtray has come away in the back. Just had the MOT done and it failed on a Nearside Rear Brake Light and passenger side windscreen wiper failure. The wiper ball joint is worn so it comes off, clipped it back on and changed bulb job done. Had advisories for ball joints not excessive and an advisory for rear sub frame. The car has done 17 thousand miles in the last year I've had the Cam Belts Tension and risers done as well as the water Pump fitted at same time. Alternator Belt and Tensioner replaced HT leads and spark plugs replaced. Front exhaust expansion pipe broke and replaced Rear Sub Frame bolt snapped and repaired (Nearly wrote car off when it happened my heart was in my !Removed!) New Battery 8 Tyres 2 on the front and 6 on the back. The passenger window has failed makes a grinding noise when trying to operate via switch, used to fall down but some lolipop sticks sorted that one Passenger wiper not working The handbrake failed one day and it rolled off and hit a wall small scrape down passenger side Someone drove into it in the car park and left it with a broken front offside indicator Intermittent ABS light Front lamp failure warning lights, rear brake light failure warning light are constantly flashing Stills leaks water on passenger side Still a formidable car in my opinion despite its issues.... My beloved s4 is for sale. Lots of spec including power tailgate, reverse camera, SatNav, keyless start, load through seats, factory fitted privacy glass and super sport seats in red and black with s4 logo embossed. On top of all the standard features, including, fully electric heated front seats, automatic 7 speed gearbox with paddle shift, 19" alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, front and rear parking sensors, B&O sound system. I thinks that updating the mmi will corrupt the mmi and have knock on effects and not allow me ever to drive the car again. and that there is no way of putting the car back because I dont have the orignal firmware disc. is this true?

Hi There I am looking to sell my 2007 (57) A6 Le Mans - which has a list of issues that I can list - but is still my daily drive today. Before I write any more though - just wanted to check if its appropriate to sell/advertise on here ? Hi, just joined the group and looking forward to getting involved, my first question: I'm looking to buy a 2014/5 A4 Avant 2.0d Black Edition Auto (think I've found the car!) and having ever so slight OCDish I like things symmetrical (I could not buy an Alfa, that number plate!!) So the one (twin) exhaust outlet haunts me!! 😱 I've done some research and have found a conversion to 2 outlets RS4 in style. Wondered if anyone has any knowledge of these conversions I'm sure it will fix my OCD nightmare but will it make a noise difference? are there other benefits or negatives on the conversion? Hi there, im busy with a little project, as my Audi came on original rims 16” I finally found a set of 18” witch I’m busy refurbishing, so far iw got that far as sanding down all the old clear coat and bit more , will start on curb damage tomorrow, ordered the tech primer meenwhile !!! The original idea was to paint them black but now I’m not too shore if the colour, please feel free to advise what colour would go best or better ??? Here is few picks to get an idea!!! thanx !

Hi Guys. Has anyone tried to lower 2017+ A4 B9 Saloon or Avant I have done some extensive research and it seems only two Brands are available in the UK Eibach - Pro Kit lowers F+R 30mm and Sportline F 45mm + R 40mm Emmanuelle Design (USA brand) - F+R 40mm Bear in mind Sport suspension is already 20mm lower from factory. The USA has available H&R F+R 40mm and 034Motorsport F+R 50mm I am awaiting confirmation from H&R Germany if the kit they supply the USA fits UK Specs B9 It appears no one in the UK has lowered a B9 unless I can not find any information/pics. If anyone has any information, please share it on this thread..

Hi All, I've bought 2012 (62 plates) Audi A4 2.0 TDI Technik. Really happy how it drives and with the general condition of the car. To be honest I took a huge risk buying this car as it had no service history and it is a Cat D car. The seller showed me pics of what happened to the car and it really was a minor damage, most people wouldn't even repair it probably, just a few medium dents. But I got it cheap and from my point of view, the car is in really good condition. It has 100K on the clock (only verified it by previous MOT readings.), Milano leather interior and etc. I've done around 500 miles on it now and so far so good. The only thing that worries me is MPG. I've driven in from Romford to Horsham (62 miles, mostly motorway) and the computer shows 52 mpg. I expected to get above 60mpg as I was really gentle and was driving with cruise control on at 70mph. I believe that this is because of huge 19 inch alloys from RS4 that the previous owner installed. I have 3g basic MMi and already ordered Bluetooth AMI adaptor from eBay as current bluetooth only allows me to make calls, but I want to stream music. I hope that by joining this forum I'll get a lot of new knowledge (I am completely new to VAG) and maybe even will start making my own contributions :) By the way, here it is:

Hi, new to the forum and after some honest realistic advice. looking upgrade the wheels on my car as a treat. got an A4 Avant B8, i;m wanting the below linked wheels TTRS in 19 inch. Would they be too big for the car, is there anything I should worry about or should I play safe and go 18 inch? Any other suggestions on making it looking more attractive would be appreciated too. Morning All, Has anyone had any mysterious cracking in their Rear LED light clusters ?, They seem like stress cracks of some type. There are no external marks or chips of any kind and exist in several places on one side of the vehicle only. Car is an S4 Avant 2015 with 8000 miles which i've had from new and these appeared about 3 weeks ago or that's when I noticed them. Audi are having the car tomorrow to take a closer look so will see what they say. Cheers
