Hi everyone, I have a slightly irritating issue that has been ongoing for a few months now. Having driven this car for several years, normally its idle RPM is 800. However, for several months, the car is having intermittent periods of high idle at 1000 RPM and at times the idle can be slightly rough. The car has no fault codes on my Autel machine. The DPF values before and after the latest regeneration that happened this Tuesday were: Before Latest Regeneration Km Since Last Regeneration - 417.1Km Soot Mass Measured - 0.21g Soot Mass Calculated - 24.26g Oil Ash Volume - 55.3341711g Oil Ash Mass - 55.3341711g Ash Load Limit - 70g After Latest Regeneration Km Since Last Regeneration - 2.5Km Soot Mass Measured - -5.57g Soot Mass Calculated - 4.68g Oil Ash Volume - 55.3402682g Oil Ash Mass - 55.3352631g Ash Load - 70g When the car initiated this particular regeneration, a grumbling sound came from the engine bay which I had never heard before but it has not happened since. Having done some research, I am suspecting one of the following: Bad DPF differential pressure sensor/blocked DPF - unlikely as the DPF is regenerating every 415Km or so which I believe is fine Bad alternator - unlikely as there is no battery warning light and the voltage of the battery during idle is 14.5V Weak battery - again unlikely as there is no battery warning light Fuel injector issue - unlikely as there are no engine fault codes and the car is not misfiring Bad thermostat - unlikely as I fitted a new OEM thermostat from Audi in Nov 2023 Bad coolant temp. sensor - possible as it has not been changed, over the past week when motorway driving, the temp. gauge on the dash was fluctuating between 70 and 90C instead of staying at its usual 90C Also, over the past week or so, there has been an extra sound coming from the engine bay (I believe it is loudest on the offside of the car) that is louder on accelerating, not sure if this is related. This video of me testing the DPF differential pressure signal wire contains the sound of the engine on idle and while it is revving on idle (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SfIBwlzODhr4Rjy9tdwqpNCoTVE_anyY/view?usp=drive_link). What are your thoughts as to what could be causing these issues? Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi, This is the first Audi I have ever purchased (A3 40 TFSI e 2021 plate) and was wondering. I have been using OBD11 and getting intermittent errors. I was wondering since I drive it ev mode the majority of the time the normal car battery is not charging and the voltage is dropping and the sensors are giving intermittent readings? Thanks Stu

Hi, I have a 2016 Audi a3. I have recently installed a new battery myself to replace my old one. I saw on online forums that new batteries need to be coded for the car to recognize them and adapt the charging cycle/level accordingly. It seems to me that the most appropriate way to enter the new battery details is through obdeleven Pro. The issue is that I would want to avoid paying for the unit which costs more than the battery itself, especially that I hardly drive my car 1000 miles per year. Can someone kindly advise if they know of a cheaper way to apply the coding than buying the obdeleven Pro unit? Thanks

Good Morning/Evening/Night Audi Owners! I've owned my Audi S3 for around a year now and have had this issue nagging at my side for around the whole time and are still unable to solve it. I've noticed one other thread with a similar issue, however with no solution there either, just wondering whether there are any other people with similar issues. When charged, my 2009 Audi S3 8P starts every time, however, after a single day or two of non-use the car either struggles to start or doesn't start at all. That's the issue. Now for the list of things I've tried: Taken the car to an auto-electrician to examine the fuse box, and investigate any possible power drains - unfortunately found nothing. We've replaced the battery 3 times, different brands each time, with the same issue. Replaced the alternator entirely and then fully charged the battery before running it. Lasted around 2 weeks, before I wasn't able to drive it for a few days and it's not dead again. Checked to ensure there are no lights on inside or out of the car when I leave it overnight. Just wondering whether anyone has had any experience with the above issue and whether you were able to get any solutions? I love the car so much but I'm getting a little tired of worrying after leaving it for a day of non-starting, whether or not it's going to start or not. Thank you, Jasper

Morning, Hope you are all coping ok with the Lockdowns. As part of mine, I am no longer using my 3 door Audi A3 (2004... its pretty old!). I planned to disconnect the battery. If I disconnect the battery with the doors all locked then the alarm goes off (as expected). But if I disconnect the battery with the doors unlocked, there is no way to lock the passenger door - since it doesnt have its own key hole on the outside of the passenger door nor its own lock button on the inside of the passenger door. Can any experts suggest a clever way around this? Its a communal car park underground so dont have access to a plug for any sort of trickle charge. And because its underground I cant even use the solar ones. Thanks, Charlie

Hi A few months ago I needed a new battery. This was easily replaced. However I now find I've lost half the functions available eg the ride height. The car will still lower at speed but only automatically I no longer have any control over this. My trusted mechanic tells me it might have been due the the way the battery was changed and I'll need to get Audi to give (sell) me a new code to reset it. Does anyone here have any experience of this ?

Hello Experts, I have an Audi A6 2006 3.2 FSI Quattro, The Car recently Started showing the EPC Warning sign, whenever this happens in a few minutes the Car turns off, i had my eye on the Battery Status in MMI and whenever the EPC sign lights up my battery Starts Draining, When it reaches 0 it turns off and i have to Jump Start the car. Took it to a few mechanics to Find the issue and all they said was that it was the battery although i had my doubts, that's why i borrowed a New battery from a Friend to test it First and see. after the new Battery installation i drove it for about 2 days and got the EPC warning Again and noticed my Battery Status went from 100% to 70%. it has not turned off on me yet but i have a Feeling it will again. After the Recent EPC warning i Ran Diagnostics With VCDS and these are the Errors that it came up with. one thing to Add is that i noticed i Get the EPC Warning only When im Driving, If the Car is on park the sign Turns off. I've been sitting in traffic 2-3 hours playing music full blast (bosè system) and charging my iPhone. Is that enough to mess up the battery. The car died in traffic on 3rd attempt started back up. FYI new powerful heavy duty battery fitted 3-4 months ago. But I noticed today for first time with this car 3-5 times while not moving in traffic the rev dial will drop suddenly towards 0 then shoot back to 1 and settle what could that mean? (P.s same day car went dead in traffic I think due to playing music full blast for 2-3 hours in traffic) my mate suggesting alternator dying?
