  1. Anyone else being driven nuts by Audi UK’s decision to stop supplying these cargo securing kit parts for such a large booted car, leaving owners with nothing to pin down loose cargo? So… Looking to source the components designed to secure cargo in the boot of a 2020 model RS6? The components include a telescopic bar with cylinder shaped end blocks that socket into a sliding boot rail clip. Another component is a retractable elasticated strap that spools out of another pair of cylinder shaped end blocks. It should also include a cargo net sized to suit an A6 sized boot rail system. Attached are some example images to illustrate what I am looking for. Audi stopped providing these as standard just before my model was released, though they still installed the rail system and provided the sliding rail clips. The last 2 images show my specific version of the sliding clips and rails. I believe the cylinder components for my model are designed to clip into the holes in the top of these sliding clips. Therefore the cylinder components may be slightly different from those shown in the earlier illustrations which come as a single part that clips in to the rail itself. However, I am not sure about this last point. Interested in hearing from anyone who can either offer to sell these parts in good working order, or advise from where I might source them.
  2. Have just received our A6 Avant back from the body shop after some repairs, and have noticed that the retractable luggage cover is only sliding back about a third of the way. It moves up and down fine when the boot opens and closes, although only the first third. Is there a trick to resetting this? I called Audi and they suggested holding the boot close button for about 10 seconds to reset, which I didn't think would work as I'd just seen a video on another forum about using that to set the boot height. Any help appreciated.
  3. Hi, the boot lid on my 2015 A3 2.0 TDi Sport does not have the 4 ring badge. Can anyone tell me what size ring badge I need and where is the best place to get it from please? Thanks.
  4. Boot could not open without key manually, rear registration bulbs blown, rear fog lights out. All went at the same time, with the lights warnings coming up everytime on start up. Took to car to Auto Electrical in East London. They had it for a couple of hours and fixed the issues in about five hours. Charged me under fifty pounds, It was the boot wiring hinge wiring loom again three wires broken. (Cost me around £60 to fix earlier this year when one wire broke).
  5. When I open the boot on my 2006 Audi A6, there is no boot light. As the boot is so big, it makes seeing what is at the back near impossible (and this is in broad daylight, never mind when it's pitch black)! I can see a light fitting and have managed to get it free but cannot work out how to replace this. As with the majority of the topics I seem to start, I am sure this is an easy fix - any help would be appreciated.

Hi everyone ^_^ I bought an Audi A4 Cab in August, and not long after I heard a grind in the steering, at very low speed but not dry steering, like parallel parking etc. I asked for it to be looked at when I had it in to get the timing belt done but they couldn't get it to make the noise, same goes for when I tried to show people the noise, but now its getting more frequent, its just like a really loud low pitched groan, it sounds like there's no hydraulic fluid but I checked this the first time it happened, it was very low but not empty, so I topped it up straight away and it hasn't gone down since, I'm thinking maybe its been low too long and some steering components have become damaged due to not having enough fluid? Has anyone else had this problem? Also, a coupe of things I've fixed this week, in case anyone comes across a similar problem: 1) On Sunday night, I opened my boot with the key boot release button, and then I couldn't close it again, it kept bouncing back open, after stripping the boot lining off I found that my boot lock actuator had seized, this connects to a metal rod which releases the boot lock mechanism, this cost me £45 for the part which I fitted last night and the problem is solved! 2) Whilst I had the boot lining off I found that all underneath it was soaking wet, including the electronics and the signal boosters for the stereo, so I took the boosters out to dry overnight and used electric cleaner on the plugs and left them to dry out. Then yesterday after fitting the new actuator I took the strip brake light out which is on the curve of the boot with it being a cab, I found the gasket around the light was split and worn, so i cleaned the light up and put the gasket back on surrounded by sealant for temporary measure, this has made it water tight so should be ok until I can get hold of a new gasket. 3) I had my can-bus system screaming that I had a rear side light out but I had changed the bulb twice and it still wouldn't come on, so on closer examination I realized the negative connection had snapped off, to avoid replacing bits of my light I just took the little bit of metal that has snapped, bent it in half and wedged it in next to the bulb so its making contact, and now the light works :D
