Hi all, Im considering buying an Audi TT S- line on around 50-60k miles and a 2009-2011 plate depending on what I find and was looking for some advice on what to look out for specifically when on a test drive and when inspecting the car? Thinking of the 2.0 TFSI engine - a there any common faults with this engine I should be aware of or any engine types I should consider? Also are there any major services I should check have been done? Are these cars generally reliable? If someone could also confirm when the facelift starts that would be good to see if I could stretch to one of those? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I don’t want to end up with a pretty lemon!   3. Hello Now this may seem like a really unserious question but I am in the market to buying an Audi A3/A4 for my first car! Surprisingly I can get the insurance at a “cheap” price for a 17/18 year old and the car model itself from anywhere between 1.5-2.5k. Would you guys recommend a car like this for a first car or am I being stupid and should get something more suitable , main reason for wanting an Audi is because I don’t want to get a corsa or something boring as a first car.   4. Hello, this is my first post so I hope I’m in the right place in the forums for this. Basically I’m going to be viewing a 2014 Audi s3 with 31k miles on the clock. It’s failed it’s last MOT due to having no catalytic converters, but I’m told a new one is being installed upon my arrival. What sort of issues/common problems should I be looking out for? What sort of questions should I be asking the dealer? (Dealer is independent). Should I be taking out warranty if I do purchase? thanks.
  5. I am currently in the market for a late Audi A6 C6 Le Edition. I have test driven a 2010 and this is my time driving a Audi ( currently driving a BMW).The car was very smooth, changed through the gears with no issues and the no noises from the suspension, as this is a big heavy car. Below is a list of things to look for and problems, I have found. Air conditioning faults Feel for water ingress in the boot (particularly behind left hand trim panel),Clonks over bumps/hard lock front ARB bushes There's a small weakness in the flap system within the inlet manifolds that will throw an engine light.Later cars ~2010 on don't suffer from this. 6 speed tiptronic box is very tough with any sort of problem rare but an oil change at 100k is often recommended as a bit of preventative maintenance. DPF 120,000 miles EGR 100-150,000 miles Inlet Manifold Swirl Flaps 100,000 miles Suspension 120,000 Cup holders dry as there is a ECU underneath Is there anything else I should look out for.
  6. Hi Guys, First of all, I'm new here and completely blue to audi's, so go easy on me. I just have a few questions before finalising my decision on a purchase of an Audi A3 or A4. Coming from the golf, I knew everything about the cars, which engines to go for, what to look out for when purchasing and how much roughly a clean model is really worth. However being completely new to Audi's, always wanting one and being in a position to purchase one, I am looking to get some questions answered. I have looked through this forum, looked for buyers guides or pointers and couldnt find anything to answer my questions. So, first of all, how much are these cars really worth? I know this is subjective, however lets say a clean example, with fsh and not a crap ton of miles, how much am I looking to pay? I have a budget from 3,5 to 5,5k, and I am looking for a clean example, preferably 06 onward however an 08 would be the perfect spot. I'd like a diesel, fuel economy is important for me. I have already read into this whole 1.9 vs 2.0 tdi's and whats wrong with the 2.0 and how its not as reliable, however after gathering all that information i am still leaning towards the 2.0 tdi 140. What should I be looking for? What big parts need replacing after certain miles? I heard the turbo needs replacing around 150k miles, so I thought to look either for a low mileage example or one that already has the big jobs done. Any problematic parts on these cars that like to go, certain sound I should be looking for? I'd like to finally buy a car that will drive me for the next few years without headaches and constant worry and taking it to the garage all the time. Difference between the 8P and the B7? I like the size of the A4 B7, and i always loved something about an estate, avant in terms of audi talk (still confusing). It might seem like a family car but I love it haha, is there certain engine codes i should avoid or look to buy? I understand that the A4 and A3 is very similar platform running the same engines? I just have all these questions in my mind, hopefully this is in the right place and im not causing chaos. Thanks in Advance, Mac. :)
  7. I have recently been looking for spares for my a3 2.0 tDi and I know someone selling a cat c . The only thing apart from cosmetic I can find is a radiator leak. It's got about 190,000 on the clock. He's asking for £1000 and to be honest its probably better than mine! Does that sound a fair price? Bit new to it all. Any advice would be grateful.
  8. Hello, I'm new here as I am considering buying an A3 3.2 V6 Quattro S-Line Sport. I just wanted to ask, is there anything I should look out for? Any known issues with this model or A3s in general. Thanks in advance (I did search the forum but didn't find what I was looking for).
