Hi all, New to this forum, and to Audi! Pick up my 2000 S6 4.2 on Friday. It's an old girl to start with but have to start somewhere. The very first thing I want to do, is fit an auxiliary input to the stereo. Perhaps should do more mechanical things but I love music. Has anybody any experience on this or any advice they could give at all. Is it even possible?? Once I begin I'll keep details on here posted and photos along the way too. Although I haven't picked up the car yet I have a photo of the system from the car advert. See attached image. Cheers! Dan

Hi everyone, Recently my Dad has given me his old Audi A6 C5 which he's owned since the early 2000's. It's a FWD 1896cc diesel which has had zero mechanical issues; the only problem it's had was an electrical issue, caused from leaves building up between the windscreen and the bonnet. It's in good condition and is currently just sat collecting dust in his garage so it's got me wondering whether this could potentially be a nice little project car. I want to turn it into something a bit more exciting so I was wondering whether it would be possible to convert this into a AWD 'Quattro' with (mostly) bolt on parts or would I need to make some significant changes to the body of the car? I would imagine the chassis/frame of this car is the same as it's Quattro variants of the same year so it's just a case of fitting a drivetrain/shaft? Any insight would be really appreciated. Like I said, I'm just exploring the possibility currently. I look forward to hearing from you. Cheers, Matt

Hi everyone, This is my first time posting a forum topic on Audi Owners Club so hopefully I get this right. Basically I have a bit of a project car idea in mind and I'm looking for some advise. My Dad has driven a Audi A6 C5 since he purchased it second hand in the early 2000's. It's a FWD 1896cc diesel which has had zero mechanical problems; the only thing he has had trouble with is the ECU which got flooded with autumn leaves a few years back. Just over a year and a half ago he decided to retire the A6 when he got himself an Audi A4 2014 reg and has given me the A6. Since then I've been wondering whether I could turn this car into something a bit more exciting so with that in mind, is it possible to convert this FWD Audi C5 into a AWD 'Quattro' with (mostly) bolt on parts? Or would the whole body of the car need to be cut up and altered to get the drivetrain/shaft in? My guess would be the chassis and frame is the same as the Quattro variants sold in 2000 but I don't know, any insight would be appreciated. If possible I plan to swap the engine with something with more power like Audi's 1.8T petrol and other upgrades for some track fun. Look forward to hearing from you in advance. Matt

63,000 miles. Full Service History. 4.2 litre V8 Engine. 2 keys plus security key. Heated Recaro leather seats. 18" Alloy Wheels. I've owned this car for the last three years. In this time it has been very reliable and a pleasure to own. I bought the car from an ex-colleague who owned it for the previous 7 years. It has been very well looked after and serviced and maintained regularly throughout its life. Full service history. MOT'd until October. Last timing belt replacement was at 145,000 miles. Bad points: Driver side window not working. The motor is still working but the clips which hold the glass within the frame have broken and jammed. Small scratch on nearside lower front bumper - this could be polished out. More photos available on request. I will take photographs of the interior and engine bay and upload these ASAP. £3,250.

Hi, new member having come back to Audi from Vauxhall - no i dont know what i was doing either. Have invested in this nicely custom A6 C5 Avant, on Coilovers and 19" 3sdm's wrapped in Vredsteins. Colour is a matte grey wrap, was someones promo vehicle til a purchased it. Engine is a mildly tuned 1.8t around 190-200bhp. Loads of torque. Showing its age in places, though it has a nice one-off leather/suede interior as well, just needs a little time and care

HI Everyone, I recently bought an Audi A6 1.8T 2001, not knowning it would have issues straight away. When starting the car, it will misfire ramdonly for the first minute or so and there will hardly be any power, then the car will seem to try as normal but does feel like its being held back a little. I bought a VAG-COM reader and used VCDS lite software to read to error codes. Please see the following codes below and suggestions where to first start to fix this issue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunday, 10 January 2016, 11:21:07. Hi Everyone, I'm looking to buy an A6(C5) with the 2.5 V6 TDI engine. Mostly I would like it with multironic/tipronic transmission without quattro. I'm totaly new with the Audis, don't know what i need to watch when i would like to buy one, what are the most common problems with the A6(C5). I heard about a lot of things, but i don't know what's the truth (when i bought my Ford Mondeo, many people told me that it isn't reliable, but i live with it without any particular problems). Also I'm not believe everything what laic people say. As some people told me that the automatic gearbox, especially the tiptronic isn't too reliable, it's apt to failure. About the multitronic I didn't heard anything. Also i heard about, and also read here, that the camshafts in the TDI V6 engines are often becomes worn. I'm completely confused (again). Can you help me with some advices? Thank you for the help in advance! Kind Regards, Peter
