  1. Hi there. Got an A6 C8 2019 In may this year the message "Brake servo restricted. You can continue driving. Please contact workshop " Took 2 weeks for audi dealership to book me in, meanwhile I was driving the car 150 miles a day, with a very bad braking: the car shaking when braking, brake pedal shake as well. I changed the sensor, and I could feel the car shaking when braking over 50 miles/h from the moment i drive off from dealership. Book it in again, audi dealership said I need to change the discs and pads. I went with a private service. After changing them, the car brakes just fine. Roughly 2 weeks after and over2k miles done , the brake shaking appears again. Went to a different private service, they said the same:i need to change the discs and pads, maybe the other where bought broken, it happens they said. Change them again, couple of weeks later and over 2k miles done same issue. I'm going to audi dealership and they said because i haven't used genuine audi parts that happened . So here I am, change the discs and pads the 3rd time in 4 months. 2 weeks later, and over 2k miles done? Yes, same problem. Is anyone in here heard something like this ?
  2. Hi, Could anyone help me with this query. I'd like to upgrade the discs and calipers on my Audi A4 2.0TDI. Its got a sticking front caliper and I need new pads and discs. I currently have 288mm discs and ATE calipers. I'd like to upgrade to 320mm discs and calipers is this possible? Would S4 brakes fit? I'm guessing i'd need new mounting brackets as well as discs,pads and caliper's? Has anyone doen this before that could give me some advice. Thanks Duncan
  3. Hi there! I have a friend who has an Audi A6 C7 (2013) 3.0 V6 TDI and it has ceramic brakes. He told me that the car's previous owner was an Audi engineer in Germany and he put the ceramic brakes on it. Now, my friend possibly have a problem with the discs, because he might have micro damages on it. He wants to replace them, but the ceramic brakes cost a fortune, and way more than the whole car, so obviously he doesn't want that. The question is: is it possible to swap the complete ceramic brake system (incl. discs, pads, calipers and everything) to a conventional/normal brake system? Or is it a big job? That would be nice to hear that he can just remove the ceramic set, and 'plug-and-play' the normal ones. I guess it's not that easy. :) Thanks in advance, David
  4. Having bought my "new" A1 1.4 tfsi Amplified Edition car, i'm finding some strange things amiss with it? So here's a list: Although i have holes, there are no lights in footwell or glove box. Surely they can't be "extras" Car has had a mid box delete, yet it is still seriously quiet? Can anyone tell me size of front discs i should look for to replace with upgrades? I found a loose plug wire in boot, then found plug it goes in to at back of boot trim, what's it for? Any help appreciated 😉
  5. Hi All, I'm writing in relation to my 2006 3.0 A6 Allroad. Time has come to change the rear discs and pads. I've done this job countless times on other vehicles and am OK with the release of the EPB (I have VAGCOM) etc. but am hoping that someone can clarify the CORRECT procedure for this job, especially when it comes to pushing the caliper piston back. Now, most mechanics I speak to simply say, take the cap of the brake fluid reservoir and push the piston back, using a screwdriver or appropriate tool. Now ordinarily that's what I'd have expected although when I last referred to a well know car repair manual (all be it for a different make/model) it stated that when pushing the piston back in it was ESSENTIAL that the hose be clamped and the bleed nipple opened. It was stated that this was to ensure no seals were 'flipped' by the back-flow of fluid and so that none of the contaminated fluid from the caliper found it's way back into the system which could cause issues/damage to sensitive ABS components. Can ANYONE clarify what is the correct procedure as it's driving me nuts not being able to find a definitive answer to this one? Thanks, Alex

  8. I do like this forum! I'm going to start another topic! 2012 A3. Anyone suffering from stone chips getting trapped on the top side of the front outside brake pads, and not dislodging until you've stopped and reversed at least six feet? I'm thinking of attaching some kind of rubber deflector to alleviate this - anyone already done it?
  9. hi new to the forum i am currently breaking my audi a4 cab 3.0 tdi v6, much loved car til some so and so decided to drive into it and smash the side and front end so iv decided to sell the remainder of the car in bits. i am selling the complete suspension legs shocks suspension discs pads wishbones quattro differential front and back, basically the complete drive train apart from gearbox as a whole lot as ive no space in my garage any more (e46 m3 supercharged ) i also have the rear s line bumper twin exit exhaust boot lid s line side skirts speedo if interested please give me a call 07792291133 i am based in birmingham 10mins away from the city centre
