central locking Passenger Right Door Locking Problems

Dear Audi Forum Members; Thank you for reading my post. I am a complete beginner, I barely know the layman version of what I need to buy and take to the garage to fix. Please be kind to my description of the symptoms of my vehicle. I have an Audi A3, 2005/2006 Model. Initially, when I use the key fob to unlock the vehicle, my right passenger side door did not open. For some reason, I would use the key fob a number of times and it was jammed. Then after a few weeks, when I use the fob, the same door won't lock. I can hear a whirring noise but every door beside this one would lock. I have to press the button a good 10x and hope it made a sudden locking noise and then I would check if it had locked. If this fails, then I would have to wait in the car, turn the car on, wait 5 minutes and rinse and repeat for the door to lock. A new symptom is when I am in the vehicle, and I press the fob to lock when I am inside, pressing it a number of times, turns the light off and also the actual switch for locking all the doors on my driver's side of the door. Hoping someone could advise, what it could be. I have already called an electrician, and they said its £50 just to look at the car without even diagnosing the problem. Please Help. Hi, Was hoping someone who is cleverer than me can give me some advice please. I bought my A6 back last September for £5,000.00. It has 75k miles and 2008 condition was okay despite a few minor scratches on it, so thought I got a good deal. After buying the car I learned that the passenger door doesn't initially open from the outside after un-locking the car, it only opens from the outside after you open it from the inside (if that makes sense). Despite this I was still proud of my car. In December I was trying to park and scraped it against a concrete post lol. The passenger side door has a massive scuff on it. Tried using T cut but no good as it went through the paint. The scuff is pretty bad and embarrassing if I'm honest, and I think it makes it less marketable if I ever were to sell it so I'd like to get this repaired. The best quote I've got to repair this is £250 from chips away. The door lock issue is frustrating but I can live with it but like the other issue it makes it less marketable. The best quote I've received for this £200. A part of me is thinking just get them both repaired, but that's a lot of money. What would you do if you were in my situation? Would you pay for the repairs? Sell the car? Replace the door? Thanks for your help! Vik

This is probably already on here somewhere but my Audi A3 SE 09 plate will only unlock with the key & not remotely with the fob. The passenger side door occasionally has this problem also. Any ideas on what the problem is & anyone who could fix it in the midlands area if its a big job ?? Cheers guys

Hi, when I unlock my car from key fob only driver door open from outside. I'm not able to open any other doors and boot. But when I unlock the door from central lock inside then i can open.. Please let me know I'm doing something wrong or its a problem.. I recently brought Audi a3 2l tfsi auto.

Hi all. Just started having an issue with my drivers door not unlocking when I press the key fob. All other doors unlock without issue. I thought the actuator had given up. However when I have driven for around 20 mins and leave the car and check it again it unlocks no problem. After around 15 mins it stops working again until I do a drive of around 20 mins and then it works again without issue. Thights???

Hi everyone, I've bought a 2002 Audi A4 not that long ago. Been tidying it up here and there but the thing bothers me the most is the terrible rubber/soft plastic coating that you find on the door/handle trim. I now this stuff is notorious for peeling and at the moment its seen better days. Is there a good way of removing it from the plastic handles, trim sides etc. without damaging the plastic underneath. Its possible that I might find replacement parts for the scratched ones but the same thing is just going to happen again & again. If you know what I'm on about, Please give suggestions. Cheers James
