Hi all. I hope someone can answer this question pretty quick as the garage as insistent that i need to replace both headlights and are ordering the parts for Monday. I bought an 06 S line this year and took it for its MOT at my local Audi dealer. It failed on the headlights not being aligned and when inspected they have told me that the headlights are not the correct type and that they seem to be set for left hand drive. They are xenon type and they say they should be halogen and also that their computer isn't registering the lights so they can make them set to the correct alignment. Another thing that was mentioned is that the wiring had been converted to adapt the daytime running lights. What I'm wondering is, why has it passed every other Mot and at different garages, so not a slip it through Mot in the past, And why would someone go to the trouble of changing the headlights to a car thats not that old...unless its been in a shunt i guess. The car did spend its early years in Germany as I have Quite a few Audi dealer receipts showing services and work done there. This might account for the left hand drive settings and adapted daytime lights to meet their laws. My question to anyone out there that might know is can they be adjusted? They tried on the mmi and couldn't do it. also not on their computer. They said you can't do it manually but ive seen someone mention an orange hex screw in the back of the light? It was also mentioned that if the battery went dead, when recharged the settings would have gone back to the original left hand. I have had a new battery fitted recently! The dealer is ready to replace both lights at a cost of £700 + so any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance
