Hello, I have a 2009 3.2L A5 Quattro S-line I am currently stuck with a fault I cannot find any information on at all. I change my battery as the last one finally died and now I have an EPC and Engine Light, as well as none other than one strange fault code in the AUTO HVAC module: 1 Fault Found 01206 - Signal for Duration of Ignition Off Time 008 - Implausible Signal Freeze Frame Fault Status 01101000 Fault Priority 7 Fault Frequency 1 Reset Counter 170 Millage 102156 km Time Indication 0 Date 2009.06.26 Time 00.32.45 Back story My car battery was on its way out, it was an original Audi battery and I could tell it was going because it started to read voltages bellow 12v, and the car was taking longer and longer to start. Yesterday, I started my car once, drove up the road, turn it off for 30 min and then it wouldn’t start but just crank slower and slower each time I tried until eventually it was just clicking. Then curtain electronics started shutting off one by one. We tried to bump start the car down a hill as we didn’t have jump leads but this didn’t work. So I bought a new battery, put it all in, put key in, Coded it on VCDS by changing 1 value on the serial code, thats when I got the EPC light, the engine warning light and this time there was no cracking no starting. That’s when I did the scan and that’s the only fault code that keeps coming up. I tried clearly the codes a couple of times but this didn’t help, I tried a different battery also with no luck. Voltage hasn’t dropped as I’ve been getting 12.3V constantly. All electrics now work fine, When I go to try and start, my dials do the usual sweep and I here an repeated whooshing sound from the rear middle of the car for a couple of seconds and 1 click, from somewhere under the dashboard in the drivers side… and then nothing. Someone said the whooshing sound is probably the pump priming? And that I could have shorted something when I connected up the car? Someone else said it sounds like my instrument cluster is electronically stoping the signal to my starter? I am really not sure what it may be, perhaps a sensor of some kind? I have visually checked all the fuses in all 4 fuses boxes of my car and they look fine, I am not sure where the starter relays are though and don’t have diagrams to tell me which one it is so Idk how to check those. I am really stumped and I can’t find anyone with the same issue as me, I have search many forums but still can’t find anything, but I thought I’d post here just incase there are people who may know what’s happening. Thanks.

Hi, apologies if this is in the wrong place. I am after some help in deciding what engine to go for, petrol or diesel. I will be doing approximately 60 mile round-trip, four days a week on rural, country roads. I’m not sure whether to go for a petrol or a diesel. I have a read that the 1.5-litre 35 TFSI is a good option. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have seen all the videos of the port being on the right hand side of the foot well but there is just a hole where it’s looks like it should be so I took the plastic tray to see if it was hiding up there but it wasn’t there. Anywhere it could be or has someone taken it out ? A4 Allroad 2017

Hello everyone, Search the internet wide but couldn't find my exact problem. I have 2008 AUDI A3 Sportback 125kW. Couple of months back my fuel injectors failed and were replaced with refurbished ones. Now from time to time on idle the engine shakes a lot, I do hear some sort of knocking noise when it happens but I am not sure if its a misfire or not. ECU doesnt give any error codes what so ever so i am baffled. The shake usually stops after couple of minutes. Now its -10-14C and the shakes starts after driving a little bit then dissapears as engine warms up. I am thinking it could be spark plugs but then ECU should give an error, fuel injectors should give an error as well. How can i diagnose this? I have Carly OBD thingy for diagnostics so maybe i can look into something with it to identify what is wrong?

Hi guys, i’m new here and am really in need of some advice. Thursday morning went out started the car it fired up as normal until revs dropped to idle speed. The car then began to shake uncontrollably almost to the point of stalling. ( i has to get to work so i drove approximately 3 miles and turned car off) Nothing unusual in normal driving conditions car was as smooth as always. went to work came home started car again. Shaking was worse, drove to my local garage, stopped at the traffic lights and decided to turn engine off due to bad shaking. Tried to start the car and nothing when light went green. i got the car towed to garage about 1 mile away. The garage inspected top part of chain and said they could lift it off cam as it was so slack. Any ideas if the car is salvageable? and where to take it to have valves etc checked? cheers jon

Hi, So wondering if anyone could help or give some advice for my situation. I own an A3 2.0 TDi 2010 black edition and iv had an engine management fault since the beginning of the year. The car was tested by a garage and they said its seems like its possibly a wiring break between the battery and ecu. After hearing that I took the car into Audi in Feb and they had a look and said it could be possible that its a wire break but sounds more like its an ECU replacement and quoted me around £1300. I took the car away and have had the management light on since but the car runs perfectly fine (even tho audi said ecu could die soon). Thing is my MOT is due soon and I know im going to need this fixed. So my question is does that price sound about right for an ecu replacement, or do you think audi are being a rip off? Iv looked around and prices for ECUs for my model are around £200 to £400. What would you guy recommend? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Hi guys, My A3 was involved in a shunt the other week, long story short rear suspension copped the impact! Basically I'm trying to find out if any A3 8P sub-frame from 2004-2013 will fit (obviously the Quattro ones wont as it's FWD!) There are a couple of differences in the part numbers that I have found: 1K0.505.315BM, 1K0.505.315BA and 1K0.505.315BH (basically the last letter, so not sure if this relates to the engine being used or not? I've found a couple off 2012 cars with very low mileage as a result, but one has got the Dynamic Ride Control shocks and as a result an extra plug that we haven't got on ours! Would this be a simple change the shocks or is there more involved than that? Cheers for any help guys! Jono
