Hey everyone, I recently upgraded the original OEM halogen headlamps on my 2016 Audi A3 2.0TDI Sport (8V) Saloon (pre-facelift) to the new headlamps with LED lights, Bi-xenon main beams, and those fancy dynamic indicators. An experienced auto electrician did the install, and the new lights look absolutely stunning. However, I jumped into this without doing as much research as I usually would, and now I have a few questions I hope you can help with: MOT Issues: I've read that converting halogen headlamp unit bulbs (H4/H7) to HID or LED bulbs can cause MOT issues, but I can't find much info about replacing the entire headlamp unit itself. Will I run into any problems with my MOT (due at the end of Sept)? Headlamp Washers: I've heard that cars with LED headlamps require headlamp washers. My car has the cutouts, but I can't seem to get the headlamp washers to work (tried following some YouTube tutorials) or they may not have them at all (and Audi just left those cutouts in there). I'm hesitant to pry them open and risk breaking something. Any advice? Insurance: Do I need to inform my insurer about the headlamp upgrade? I’m concerned that not doing so might void or affect my insurance - oh and I also replaced my tail lights while I was at it, so the same goes with that. I usually do a ton of research before anything major on my car (or in life haha), but I got a bit carried away with these amazing lights—they really make the car look awesome! Any thoughts or advice from those who have done similar upgrades or know more about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone First post, forgive me if it's been covered somewhere before. On Monday I'm getting my Q8 etron and I'm updating my insurance policy. I have 2 options, q8 etc etc etc 5C or 5E. The 5E is described as "estate" and 5C "hatchback". This isn't the sportback, does anyone know which one I have to select? Insurers tend to be picky over details like what car they're actually insuring and Aviva don't have any phone numbers you can talk to a human on! Many thanks Martin

Hi Guys, I'm new to the group and I am wondering if there is anyone on here from Ireland? I have a D2 S8 but as the insurance industry in Ireland is a shambles, it's in a shed not getting used! I was wondering how you guys are insuring your vehicles on this side of the water? As it's a 2002 it's not quite the 20 years required for any classic policy I have come across but maybe someone has found something different? I am with AXA for my daily (B6 A4 tdi) and tried to swap over but they told me to forget about it! Any help greatly appreciated, I need to get my V8 fix! Niall

Hi everyone - I have just picked up my Q5 18 plate. It was a stock car with tech pack. Unfortunately, the dealer the Audi dealer i bought from hasnt bothered to come back on below questions therefore any advice would be appreciated: How can I check if I have keyless (Smart) access? Does the car come with a Tracker (for insurance purposes)? Coming from a Lexus NX 300h F-Sport i had both, and I just assumed for a car worth £46,000 it would come with both the above too. Hi picked up my new Q5 after a considerable wait, the old one was traded in a few weeks ago. Supplied with the 5 day insurance from audi fine, so i rang them to get a quote for the new car they don't want us!!! I have had 3 other quotes from 3 different places no problem (impressed with the prices even the most expensive was a £200 saving on last year!!! on the old q5).

Hi Everyone, I am looking for a Audi A3 5DR Deisel 2007 or 2009 for less than 7K. Is this possible? I have found few cars on few sites. what i realised was that compared to other models most Audi A3's have been insurance categorised as C or D. Is there a specific reason for this? Are the parts expensive? or Expensive to repair? Any advice would be helpful as I dont want to get it written off for a slight dent in the corner after buying an A3.

i previously bought a Audi 80 tdi 1994 and i need help getting insured on it. im 20 but 21 in may i have a renault clio now but i am sick of french pieces of crap so i bought a classic audi aways likes these cars and my father has it in the convertable. Im just trying to find out if i can get it on classic car insurance because its 19 years old. any help would go a long way. i will also post some pictures up as im planning to have it as a project.
