Hey, Just wondering does anyone know what the fix might be for this? I have Semi Dynamic indicators on my 8V PFL but the far right indicator stays on at all times. Could it be a relay problem and that’s why it’s stuck on or does it need coding?

Hey everyone, I recently upgraded the original OEM halogen headlamps on my 2016 Audi A3 2.0TDI Sport (8V) Saloon (pre-facelift) to the new headlamps with LED lights, Bi-xenon main beams, and those fancy dynamic indicators. An experienced auto electrician did the install, and the new lights look absolutely stunning. However, I jumped into this without doing as much research as I usually would, and now I have a few questions I hope you can help with: MOT Issues: I've read that converting halogen headlamp unit bulbs (H4/H7) to HID or LED bulbs can cause MOT issues, but I can't find much info about replacing the entire headlamp unit itself. Will I run into any problems with my MOT (due at the end of Sept)? Headlamp Washers: I've heard that cars with LED headlamps require headlamp washers. My car has the cutouts, but I can't seem to get the headlamp washers to work (tried following some YouTube tutorials) or they may not have them at all (and Audi just left those cutouts in there). I'm hesitant to pry them open and risk breaking something. Any advice? Insurance: Do I need to inform my insurer about the headlamp upgrade? I’m concerned that not doing so might void or affect my insurance - oh and I also replaced my tail lights while I was at it, so the same goes with that. I usually do a ton of research before anything major on my car (or in life haha), but I got a bit carried away with these amazing lights—they really make the car look awesome! Any thoughts or advice from those who have done similar upgrades or know more about this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I recently decided to update the reversing lamps and also the licence plate lights on my 66 plate A3 Sportback with brighter LED units. Whilst there were many bulb replacements, all from China I couldn't find them with positive to the barrel of the H6W base. This is necessary because of the way the lamp holder is designed - whilst the tail and rear fog bulbs are negative "earth" the connections are reversed on the reversing bulb socket. After a detailed search I came across LedPerf in France who offered a bulb with correct polarity & built in resistor to fool the OBD and not produce a "lamp out" message on the dashboard. At the same time as I was ordering these I noted they offered replacement licence plate units specifically for 8V models. I thought that replacing them with brighter whiter units would also help when reversing. To cut a long story short when they goods came, the reversing bulbs were great and fitted perfectly and are much brighter. The licence plate lights were totally wrong, obviously for another model as resistors were also supplied on flyleads (so these were for a car with standard bulbs, not like the 8V which already has LED units. Getting LedPerf to agree to a return with them paying postage was a nightmare - some 26 messages back & forth! In the end I gave up as I didn't trust them to sort it out or refund postage. I had realised that I could use the lamp units they had sent by changing the connectors on the car with simple adaptors. Asking Ledperf to at least pay for the adapters was pointless, they just point blank refused. If you do buy from them be aware that if things go wrong, it's virtually impossible to get them to sort it quickly and easily.

I'm confused... (nothing new there... ) Being new to Audi, and the Q7 - there are a few Audi-isms that I don't understand... One being the high beams. When selected the dipped produce more light, but the main beams do not come on. Does anyone know why this is, is this a design function or a malfunction...?? the pics below were taken with the high beams turned on... Please advise.
