Hi all hope everyone keeping well! my A6 1.8 TFSI’s mpg output doesn’t seem that great compared to what I was expecting… I’m averaging around 29mpg per tank full… driving is a mix of urban local roads and short 10 mins a day on the a13. I drive the car sensibly also rarely putting the foot down other than a once in a while, just wondering if I’m being silly expecting higher MPG as per the expected guidelines (38 mpg urban and 49 mpg extra urban). Unsure how much difference it makes but I’ve only been using premium e5 petrol in the car also. any advice or comments welcomed. Thanks guys

Hi all, I have recently purchased an A4 avant 1.4 TSFI 2017. Really happy with the car but have been struggling to hit the high mpg expected, I had changed from a BMW 318d so had expected to see a drop in mpg going to a smaller engined petrol. I use the car for a 66 miles round commute daily on A and B roads, I'm currently averaging 40-44mpg depending on traffic and weather. After achieving late 50s-early 60s in the 318d, I was expecting to hit closer to early 50s as the extra urban stats of vehicle claim to reach up to 58mpg. Abit disheartened due to the high mileage I will be covering. I have played with the different drive modes but was wondering if anyone had experienced similar problems or had any tips to up the mpg.

Hello, Reading up on the A4 B8 2023 177bhp black edition TDI 2.0 fuel economy, worth doing a remap to increase economy, worth doing? Any one else already done it? Thanks in advance!

What Drive Mode do people find they get the best MPG in? particularly the Q3 40 TFSI 2019.

Hi, I'm considering a 2008 A4 2.0 TDI CR S-Line quattro. it's the 168bhp version and stated MPG is 47.9 combined. I wonder if anyone can tell me what I can expect in true MPG figures as I drive 15 - 20k per year on motorway and A roads and don't want to be hammered for diesel. Also, any common issues with the quattro over the FWD variant. Much appreciated. Bob

Hi guys,I have an A5 2.0TDI Quattro 190PS Black Edition Plus, November 2015. I bought it second hand from Audi with 8000 miles on the clock in January 2017. It is killing me on fuel!! I am getting around 200-240 miles per tank (60 litre tank) and no I do not floor it constantly. At it’s first service which was around 3 weeks ago I told Audi about my fuel efficiency. They did a diagnostics check and checked for any leaks and said it was all fine! They put it down to cold weather (even though the mpg has been awful for the whole year!), my driving and stop start traffic driving conditions. I got a remap put on the car last week in an attempt to help the fuel efficiency but it’s literally the same and hasn’t helped. This is not right, has anyone experienced anything like this? If anyone could point me in the right direction I’d be very grateful! Thanks in advance.

Hi New to this forum, thought id see if anyone else has experienced this. I must also point out a friend of mine with the same car has just complained to the dealer after 20,000 miles for the same issues. This is the letter written to the dealership below. Hope you are well, car is lovely and great for the long journeys…….. but I have been concerned about the MPG and having spoken to other Audi drivers there does seem to be a huge difference between whet is stated by Audi and what the car can get anywhere near delivering. When I looked at the specs before going ahead this is what Audi specified. EC Urban 47mpg EC Extra Urban 59mpg EC Combined 53.3mpg I have done different driving styles over long distances using Eco/comfort and Auto modes and it would be a pleasure on a 200Mile drive to get anywhere near URBAN in Eco mode but in eco mode driving like an absolute saint you can scrape 40MPG I was expecting this to be Urban and to on the longer journeys to be getting 50+ especially when driving in such a way. A simple calculation on 20,000 per year filling up at supermarkets doesn’t fill me full of glee especially when I was expecting the engine to perform better. 20,000 miles per year £1.14 per Litre achieving the current combined 38MPG = 526.31 Gallons x 4.54609 = 2392.65Litres Annual Fuel Cost £2727.62 20,000 miles per year £1.14 per Litre achieving the Audi quoted combined 53.3MPG = 375.23 Gallons x 4.54609 = 1705.84 Litres Annual Fuel Cost £1944.66 The difference could be £782.96 per year and over the three years £2348.89 I have not quoted the top efficiency ratings for the MPG and this seems horrendous. When driving the A5 this was getting very near without switching myself into saintly driving mode! I have consulted with other A6 drivers of the same engine and they inform me this model does seem to have issues with the MPG capabilities (even when run in), I am concerned the information stated by AUDI is misleading and at my cost! Additional notes; I have kept a log whilst trying trying different car settings, fuels, driving styles (from saintly to enjoying the car!) and the variation is negligible. I have noted from reading the forum that the fan going off when stopping the car for a while and high idling revs is also a thing, can anyone enlighten me about this. History...... last 3 cars 5 series's 520d - 530dM-Sport - 530d M-Sport 2nd model when driven saintly was around 500+ to a tank driven Urban 430, the last model was 500+ urban and 6-700 with distance and everyday use. On a recent journey - Shrewsbury - N. London - Peterborough - Bourne - Shrewsbury 38MPG! in the A6

Hi guys Just recently bought a 2008 A4 TFSI. Previously had a Passat 1.9 TDI (03 plate). I know Petrol cars generally give you less mileage than Diesels but didn't expect it to be this juicy. I usually put in £40 from empty and got around 250 city miles in the passat but the Audi is giving me around 180. So 70 miles less in a car which is 5 years newer. Does this seem about right?

Hi All, bought myself a Q5 s-line a few months ago. Best car I’ve ever owned. I’m currently only disappointed in the false claim re: MPG as it’s not achievable! its a 190bhp 2.0 diesel. It achieves approx 420 miles per tank ( full tank upto reserve - not to total empty) Mid 30’s per gallon of fuel instead of low 50’s. And I drive sensibly. Apart from that. Love the car.

Hi, Was wondering what MPG everyone was getting? I have the A4 2.0 TFSI Quattro Black Edition and getting an average of around 30-32mpg. Does that sound about right ?

Hi. I recently purchased a 2014 A6 Avant 2.0 tdi ultra black edition, which I believe is the latest 190PS engine. I was told the car would do around 60MPG combined, which I understand is never going to be realistic but still I would expect 50MPG when driven carefully on a long run. Now the car is mostly used by my wife to do short 2-3 mile journeys daily, mostly school runs and trips to the supermarket. Now I know this sort of driving is not going to give the best MPG, but I am only getting around 34MPG and in some instances 25-30MPG. I bought the car partly for its MPG, but this is crazy as it costs £80 to fill up and doesn't take long for it to need refilling. The car is driven slowly in ECO mode, but is this correct that I am getting such a low MPG? I hope someone else can shed some light if they have had similar experiences as I am seriously considering selling it for something more fuel efficient for this type of driving. Any thoughts on a alternative car would be much appreciated. thanks Ben
