Hi, First time on this so apologies if I end up posting on the incorrect forum or anything but would really appreciate any help right now. The problem is in regards to my 2009 Audi A5 Coupe 2LT which I purchased a year ago and carried out a full service upon purchase. More or less for the past 8 - 9 months the car does tend to smoke when idling (sometimes worse than others i.e. at times the smoke would be heavy after 30 seconds and others itll take a while longer). During this time, i've noticed i've been topping up the oil more frequently than I feel i should, within my time of owning the car i've done around 7-8k miles. I've recently been to a garage who claim my valve stem seals are the main issue for the smoke on idle. I've done some research as to what causes the issue and the 'symptoms'. However, I just want to know how serious is this problem or can I possibly keep my car running like this for another year or so? Thanks for any help in advance

Hello everyone, New to this and am hoping to find some advice. I've recently (6 months ago) bought a 2009 A5 2.0L T and soon had needed to top up the oil a couple of times. Completely unaware of this known issue that i have now read up on so think i understand the problem. i devised a DIY test. My understanding is Audi claim this engine will consume about 1 litre of oil every 1200 or so miles. Last time my oil warning came on i topped up with a litre and reset the odometer. The oil warning came back on after only 383 miles..... I've not much service history unfortunately and i am confident i don't have an oil leak, so.....How concerned should i be? Thanks for any advice ! Scott

Hey guys,My Audi A4 1.8T B8 has been producing some black/blueish exhaust smoke recently, there's also a strange sound between revs and when turning the engine off. I've uploaded two short videos of the issue below: Do you guys have any idea what it could be? I've heard a few different things so far. The car it's self does use a lot of oil and is close the the 1L/1000km set by Audi, could this be related?The car it's self drives fine, haven't noticed any issue with acceleration/turbo.Any help or feedback is massively appreciated!!Thanks!
