  1. Hey guys I recently had the dreaded oil pressure light come on at a stop light when engine was up to temp, I checked the oil level in the MMI and it said it was full, every time the light came on (low oil pressure) I would check the display and it was all okay. I had my OBD2 scanner plugged in and no codes, I checked throughout the day and no change, the next day it was reoccurring at every stop/ idle, I checked the oil level and it said low, the light came off and I checked again on the display and it was back to full, a few hours later there was no information about the oil, then it showed full only once again and then it hasn’t anymore to the date, I suspected a faulty oil pressure sensor so I went ahead and replaced it with a Duralast (brown) and it was still happening, I checked the sensor and it seemed like it was faulty and it was leaking as well, replaced it with a new one and it did the trick for about 45 minutes, I got a quart of oil in it and no lights on for about the same time but it came back on, although not as intermittent as before on every stop/ idle, it’s now doing it like every 2-3 stop/idles. I am now going to replace the blue sensor and hope for the best then tackle the oil level sensor below the oil pan, any ideas? PS:Oil was serviced beforehand and about the next day it started, also I did notice that the original pressure switch I replaced had two silver squares in it with a pin in the middle and a dot outside the housing, the new switch I got at AutoZone did not have the two squares in it (see photos for reference) it did had positive reviews including from someone the same year model as mine with no issues. I also reset the hood latch to make sure it wasn’t that.
  2. Guys need your help !! Ive got a 2008 A6 2.0 tfsi s line have the dreaded oil pressure light coming on very intermittently so I have flushed engine cleaned out sump cleared the strainer/oil pickup didn't find much crap all seemed okRan car for a week or so no issues then its started again only when i slow down and let the revs fall below 1000rpm not every time but under heavy breaking quick beep flashes oil pressure warning then all is fine again can drive for hours no light unless i stop or slow down Doesn't happen on the drive when i sit and rev the car no issues at all only when the car is moving ??Ive had it to my local garage ( A friend so no charge) who couldn't find anything wrong light never came on at all on road test so he told me to take it back and maybe change the oil sensor and if it still does it he will do a pressure test Ive replaced the sensor topped up the oil still the !Removed! light flashed beep goes off when revs drop under 1000 rpm but again intermittently and again never stays on If i get the pressure checked i can't see it detecting anything because it only happens when the cars moving never when the car is stationary Car runs absolutely perfect no rattles or engine noise at all Please Please any help would be great its driving mad !!!
  3. Hello all. I have searched a lot on this topic but can't seem to find a definitive answer. I bought an A4 black edition 1.8 tfsi 170 just 5 days ago. It's being going great and only have one issue of a suspected suspension knock (probably bushes?), however, twice today I had a low oil pressure flash up on the dash and tell me to immediately stop. Its got me very concerned as I have read a lot of stories about oil consumption on the tfsi engines, but thought I was safe with a 62 plate. I haven't been able to check the oil level since audi didn't trust me with a dipstick, but was assured a £600 service was carried out on the car by a reputable company, and have been given contact details. I will call them in the morning. I have 1 month warranty so am hoping that if something is wrong I can get it sorted free? Any help is appreciated. Thanks
