Hi All, My car has started to give gearbox issues unfortunately. The symptoms were at the start that I was driving on a long journey from near Peterborough to Blackburn, when on the M60 the car started jerking from the front and loosing power. As I drove further, the problem worsened and the car was loosing power further., so I pulled up at the hard shoulder and decided to unpower and car for a few minutes. After starting the car again, the problem was still there but gradually got worse and eventually lost momentum and did not want to move. The engine revs fine in park. At this point, I got the car recovered to a garage. The following day the car drove absolutely fine but the diagnostic stated the below P1764:00/05988:000 Passive/Sporadic Transmission temperature Monitoring I decided to go to the garage and drive the car when a few miles down the M65 the car started jerking from the front again, so much that I have to drive the car back to the garage at less than 10 mph (seems like the problem gets worse as the car heats up). The mechanic had a further look and pulled another fault code, P1743:00/05955:000 Active/Static Clutch Slip Monitoring, Signal too high Can anyone help me out what the solution may be, or does anyone know where I can a gearbox for it? I am checking ebay and the usual places but being on a specialist forum maybe you peeps know something better? I appreciate I may have to purchase another gearbox which is a solution or get this to a specialist repair centre where it will cost too much to repair for an old car like mine. Already been quoted approx. £2k for repair if this is a clutch issue. Please please can anyone help? Also, does the gearbox have to fully match up with a replacement, ie does the WWO 5 need to match up also and the T at the end of 01J301 383 T? Regards, L. Matadar

Took the car on a longish journey recently, about 15 minutes in I noticed the engine temp wasn't going above 60. It was early hours and freezing cold, so assumed that it was ambient temperature plus not driving far or fast at that point. Turned the heaters on and got no warm air and another 30 minutes later still no rise in engine temp. Thought it might be an air lock in the cooling system, so pulled over at a services, checked coolant & oil levels (both Ok). Bled the coolant lines (from the plastic screw near the windscreen), fluid came out almost straight away. Rest of the journey there and back no change in engine temp and no heat from the blowers. Got home, swapped the coolant temp sensor as that seemed the next likely culprit. Noticed that the coolant level had dropped from Max to Min, so topped up and bled again, some air came out, but again, not a lot. Started the car and left it to idle on the drive, with an occasional blip of the throttle. After a few minutes the temp started rising, got to about 80-90, so I assumed all was good. Car sat for a couple weeks, took it out last night and once again, no warm air and temp gauge sat at 50-60. Checked the rad and hoses, both are getting warm then hot as the engine runs, so assuming that coolant is actually circulating. Oil level hasn't dropped and engine is hot after being driven, so think that side of things is ok. Noticed that there does seem to be a little coolant leaking from the bottom radiator hose. Not sure if it's original, but it's definitely far from new - neither hoses or radiator have been changed in the 11 years I've had the car and up till now there's never been an issue. I'm wondering if the hose has perished and is letting air in, causing a semi permanent air leak / lock. So replacing them is the next job, except, I can't seem to find anywhere online to buy replacements - Can anyone point me in the direction of a supplier. I have the OE part numbers, but searching online either yields "Discontinued" from Audi, or hoses from other sources (such as AutoDoc) that match the part number, but look nothing like what's under the bonnet. Lastly, if it turns out not to be hoses, what should I look for next? I'm assuming the water pump is working as I can feel coolant moving through the hoses and it comes out the bleed screw. I'm reasonably sure the block is ok as it had a strip and rebuild over lockdown and hasn't done more than 1000 miles since, so would welcome any advice or suggestions. TIA

Good Evening all, Just putting it out there as I've searched and searched with no luck and would really like to know if any one has had the same issue or has any knowledge of this. I have a 2013 Q7 3.0 TDI is done just over 100k. The car warns me of high engine temp and the gage reads 130'c, i can stop the car then re-start and the gage will go down. The rad pipes feel warm but not overheating temperature (touchable) and there is no leaks of coolant. the fans kick in as normal when the engine left running for a prolonged period and also when the temp warning is active. I have swapped the whole thermostat and housing along with a new water pump and new coolant. The other issue is the heating is very intermittent with temperature. I can hear the heating unit through the dash making noises like a valve/motor operating unsure if this is normal as i expect noise when the heating is being altered and flaps changing and so on but not constantly. Could the heating issue be the sole cause of the engine temp warning or is this something as easy as the temperature sensors being inconsistent and then throwing the heating out? I have read on various threads that the car is fitted with two sensors is this correct? thanks for any help really struggling with this and i have a large drive due next week and don't fancy a journey on a recovery truck!

Hi all, My girlfriend's got an 03 Audi TT. It seems to run at > 90C when in normal operation and we've noticed recently that it'll occasionally dip into the red before dropping back to where it sits in the image. In any other car I've driven the temp would sit in the middle, in this case 90C, but her Audi always seems to sit on the mark between 90 & the red. Does this need checking out or is this normal? I'm also not sure how worried to be about it dipping into the red, the coolant levels seem fine. Thanks. IMG_6549.HEIC

2005 - A4 1.8T Quattro Odd one really - the passenger side air vent (above the stereo console) only gives off hot air even if the AC is turned down to "Lo". The driver side vents are working fine. Is there anything simple I could check myself before driving it in for a checkup?
