I got the dreaded rattle coming from the turbo. after trawling the forums I convinced myself it was the was actuator linkage. And not something more sinister.. ie something rattling in the engine. I had a rattle on deceleration <2K rpm i wasn’t in any rush to replace the turbo so bought the clip that was supposed to cure the rattle. Also I really didn’t want to remove the turbo or the exhaust pipe in order to access the area where the clip needed fitting. i squashed the clip in a vice to ensure it was a tighter fit. Then basically I attached the clip into a socket head (can’t remember the size) with a rubber band. And with a socket extension and a cheap iPhone endoscop, I was able to see and reach right up to the actuator arm linkage behind the headers and slide the clip right on. this cured the rattle but I don’t expect it to last long. Been on a couple of months now and so far so good. so just for info - this clip can be fitted without the need to remove ANYTHING EVGATSAUTO Engine Turbo Clips... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BPGJJJM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Has anyone replaced a turbo on a 2.0 8v a3? I’ve heard stories about the subframe having to be dropped to get the dpf and turbo out but was wondering if there is any other possible way as it’s becoming a struggle having it on the driveway doing it. Thanks for any help

FullSizeRender.MOV Hi guys, My 2009 A3 2.0 diesel has an intermittent problem with the acceleration. When you try to accelerate it looses the abillity to do so as it normally does (seems like the turbo doesn’t kick in) and revs really slowly. Sometimes If I switch the ignition on and off everything works fine (doesn’t work always). Also no warning lights have come on. I took it to mechanics/technicians plugged it into a computer and no error codes came up. Please help me guys as nobody is willing to fix it because of the absence of warning lights and error codes.

Looking at doing a turbo conversion for my 1.8tfsi (160bhp) Anyone got any experience in fitting a bigger turbo? Heard a few whispers about the IS20 turbo from the mk7 gti is a straight swap but would like some clarification or other ideas before I go ahead. Also heard the MK6 gti induction kits are a perfect fit too. Is this true?

Audi A4 - 260 BHP - 1.8T - B6 - 2002 I have for sale my beloved 260 BHP Audi A4 B6 1.8T. I have spent thousands on this car and it is a great powerful vehicle. See below on the overview and spec. Overview The car has been upgraded to a very fast 260BHP with a uprated K04-15 Turbo (hybrid), FMIC , Bosh 550 Injectors and de-cat down pipe. The car has been professionally remapped at Unicorn Motor Developments and the rolling road report is attached. Upgrades 260BHP with a uprated K04-15 Turbo (hybrid), Front Mounted InterCooler Bosh 550 Injectors De-cat straight through down pipe. Performance Air Filter Professionally remapped at Unicorn Motor Developments 19" Alloy Wheels Features Front Electric Windows Air Condition Audi Chorus Sound system with 6 CD Changer (one of the speakers are not working) 19" Alloy Wheels Multispoke wheels Condition I have just changed the water pump and the timing belt was also just done at the same time, so this is brand new. The body work is in fair condition for the age of the car. There are some minor dents and scratches of course for the age of the car. The bonnet has a medium dent which can easily be repaired at a dent repair place. The engine was fully rebuilt 26,913 miles ago as the orignal turbo failed hence i decided to fully rebuild with new uprated Turbo and compenents , so this engine only really has 26,913 many miles on it. The overall mileage of the car is 189,913. The thermostat needs to be replaced for the heating. Any inspection / Passenger Test Drive welcome. Only selling as i have bought another car now. This is a great 4 door powerhouse for a cheap price. You will probably not get 260BHP and a lot of fun for this money anywhere. £2795 or nearest offer - Call Now ! My turbo started making a high pitch "whistle" or whining noise a few weeks ago, especially when accelerating in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. At first, I could still hear the turbo boosting and it seemed to be driving okay. However today, there is a whining noise that has suddenly become MUCH louder and happens consistently even when touching the accelerator lightly. When revving in neutral, I can also hear the whine. It's an "air-y" sort of noise. I can't really hear obvious scraping coming from the turbo but it's really hard to tell. Is my turbo stuffed? Thanks. video-1569228217.mp4 video-1569228261.mp4

Hi All Need a new turbo for my 55 plate 2.0 TDi. Tempted to go with reconditioned as its half the price of a new one. Anyone fitted a reconditioned unit on here? Is it a matter of you get what you pay for or are they worth a shot? If so, does anyone know a reputable seller? New is obviously better and if i go down this route where is a good place to get a new one from? Not going OE as they are stupidly priced!! Cheers

Hi all, I have a brand new turbo for sale. I bought it initially for my A6 and when I fitted it, I realized that something else was wrong on the car making it not worth fixing it anymore. This turbo ran for litterally 3 minutes. It is a brand new Garett for 1.9l TDI engine (BRE models). Don't hesitate to contact me for more information.

Hi all, I'm new to this site. I own a b7 3.0 tdi Quattro s-line. The car is standard apart from a milltek exhaust system. Had the car about 18 months now and love it so am willing to turn a blind eye to the few annoying things wrong with it. However, my turbo is knackered. if the car is sat running on tickover for a few minutes or more then I pull away, there is a large amount of blue smoke billowing out of the exhaust. The car is a true about 85k and I hear it's fairly common. im looking at refurbished turbo's. Any guys on here have any suggestions, recommendations, experiences or horror stories?

Hi all, We have an A6 - the other night it was driven over a faulty road surface near us (roadworks). In the morning when I took it out, about 2 minutes after I'd started driving the oil light on the dashboard (needs oil!) flashed on. I knew I had to stop immediately, but turned the car round and drove for about 3 minutes (I had to restart it about 3 times). My husband went out and looked and said there was a hole in the oil sump - and again started it and drove around the corner. Called garage who retrieved the car and fixed oil sump with one from another A6 that was scrapped in the same garage (lucky us!). On the way back from the garage today the car was very sluggish. Husband tried it, reckons the turbo was not kicking in. I am more worried than he is tonight! Worried a) that there may have been engine damage b) that driving the car (drives fine, but without much power) without the turbo may damage the engine. Any thoughts?

Hi all, Im trying to get to the bottom of a problem were every time I accelerate onto a motorway my turbo cuts and my car becomes sluggish. If I turn it off it rights itself and the turbos comes back. I've changed the boost solonoid and some hoses, and cleaned the egr which was ok to be fair. The turbo was replaced around 40k ago too. When it's cold it's like a train, but I'm stuck as to what to do. I've saved to buy my first Audi and I really don't want it to go to someone else who may run it into the ground. Please help... regards Andy.
