Hi All I'm new here but thought it would be helpful to see if I'm the only customer with Audi warranties. I purchased my 3rd Audi S5 Convertible from new in 2018 including the extended 5 year warranty with a list price of over £60k. I do need to say that the car itself has been fantastic and the only downside of ownership has been warranty claims. After around 2 years I started to notice non-standard wear on the offside of the roof near the rear window which is always the first place convertibles start wearing. I contacted Audi Tamworth where I purchase the car from to get it repaired under warranty and they said I would have to pay £8700 or contact Audi UK to support any claim. I then contacted Audi UK who is it was solely down to the dealers discretion. I tried a second dealer in Nottingham who also had the same stance. Audi UK suggested I went through the Motoring Ombudsman which I did, it took over 12 months and after multiple mistakes (they said it was out of warranty at two years old) they ended up supporting Audi Tamworth / UK. I've now given both Audi UK and Jardine Motors Group one final chance to put this right. The facts The vehicle had ceramic coating and roof protection from new. It was never pressure washed, I even use the 3 bucket system 🙂 My only interaction with the roof was pressing the but to open/close All convertibles wear, but we also have a VW Beetle convertible with over double the miles where the roof is still as-new. It's only worn on one side and even after over 6 years the other side is still unworn. It was purchased with a 5 year warranty and less than 3 years old when presented to Audi for repair My question is, have any of you had similar issues?

Hi, Im new in the forum. Happy nee year everyone. Apologies if there is a topic on this already. Could not find a similar case. i purchased a second hand audi approved Q7 in December 2021. The specs of the car at the time of purchase: Model Year: 2019 19 Engine Capacity: 3,000 Mileage: 17,676 Transmission: Automatic Fuel Type: Diesel The car had all the audi approved pre checks and audi warranty for a year. As you can see the vehicle was low mileage with only 17k on the clock. In the November 2022 during the annual service an oil leak was identified. Nothing major, but they could not check during the service because they need more time to remove parts etc. The audi service advisor mentioned I needed to make a separate appointment for the oil leak check. So I didn’t make the appointment right away since it sounded something uncertain and didnt want to drive to the dealer again just for another day, so I waited for the service to do the check. Now last November 2023 during the annual service the technician at the audi dealership checked the oil, but could not find the oil leak so they need the vehicle once more to stay at the audi garage because they need to take out the engine to find the issue. Apparently, taking the engine out will take a number of hours and the cost will be high just for the diagnostic. So here is my question. The oil leak was identified in November 2022 just before the one year warranty expired. However, the work will take place in February 2024. I mentioned the warranty to them and I believe was their duty to mention that this is rather complicated to diagnose and costly so do it straight after the service in November 2022 within the warranty. I am worried this could become a big issue and that audi wont take any responsibility. The car only drove 4k miles since then. I see no reason for a low mileage vehicle to have an internal oil leakage. Any thoughts/advice on how to address this issue with Audi?

Hey Team Audi, Have any of you seen or heard of this issue before. I have OEM roof bars supplied by my local Audi dealership. The bars come with a torque spanner so a great way to ensure you don't over tighten. I have a Black Edition with Black roof rails, I had the roof bars on for 2 weeks only to see that the matt paint has rubbed off, this was caused by the rubber mounts on the roof bars. For what it's worth, I only wash the vehicle with Autoglym products which I got from Audi. I also made sure that the rails and rubber mounts were clean before I put them on. Andrew Doyle and his executive team have blamed me for the damage and basically told me to sack eggs even though this is an AUDI OEM product. PLEASE HELP!!

Hello all, New member here! I’ve been looking for a while and found a 2010 Audi A5 2.0 TFSI Q in my budget with the exact specifications I want. 1 owner, excellent milage and great condition. Full Audi SH apart from the last service done by the dealer. I paid for an AA inspection which found an oil leak in the front engine (he said maybe it’s the front cam shaft sensor?). The dealer agreed to get this fixed before I buy the car. Looking at the service history, 30,000 miles ago it seems like Audi did a consumption test as a leak was cleaned and the owner was asked to return after 1000 miles. No other related issues or mentions appear in the history after that, it looks like the owner didn’t go back. So one assumes all was ok and there was no consumption problem? I’m just a little torn as to whether to purchase this car. I really don’t want to find that there is a consumption problem or other issues down the line. The only other things are: There’s only one key so I’d need to buy another. A few diagnostic fault codes came up, though I dont know what they mean. I’ve attached photos of them. All else is perfect and the dealer said he’d give me a year warranty rather than 3 months. Sorry for the long message. I’d really appreciate your opinions and advice please. Thanks in advance.

Hello, As I've just bought my dream car i have a question!. Has anyone had any experience with an R8 & Audi's Extended Warranty?. I know it's expensive @ £2379 (£250 excess) for 12 x months comprehensive cover but peace of mind for a car which I'm assuming could be very expensive to repair?... Thanks, Shaun...

Recently purchased a 1 year old car from an Audi garage. I was only offered a 12 month warranty as it was a used car (previously a demo vehicle). Anyone else come across this anomaly as anyone buying a second hand Audi privately would have been able to transfer the remaining warranty to the new owner. I fail to see how Audi can reduce the warranty just because they were the previous owner?

Hi Guys, When I purchased my A4, 6 weeks ago I got a platinum warranty from warranty wise with it, from the dealer. I thought to be on the safe side id get it in to a local VAG Specialist for a health check to make sure everything was ok. I have noticed since I got it when at idle and usually after the car has warmed up there was what sound's like little knocks every so often. Ive had the bonnet open to listen to see if I can hear where its coming from and couldn't source it. Local Vag specialist done the health check today to recommend DSG gearbox further inspection needed and when I spoke to the tech he suggested it could be a flywheel, its supposedly really common. He said he road tested the car and it drove fine although he said the car should be more responsive in D and its something that could possibly go a couple of years before a fault occurs. I obviously have this warranty for another 4 and bit months do you think I should contact them to get this looked at and do you think will they entertain me when I speak to them? Thanks, Liam

Hello Everyone, First off, I want to say I'm sorry if I've posted into the wrong section. I'm relatively quite new to being on forums. I have a question about repairs and warranty, specifically, what's covered under it. I have an approved used Audi A4 2.0 TDI with just over 1 year left on the warranty (purchased with special offer giving 2 years warranty instead of 1) Audi Service Centre have identified two faults on my car: Rear passenger door lock is faulty (I'm aware of this and mentioned it to them when I took it in) and the fuel flap is faulty. They've told me that I have to pay for these to be replaced. Does anyone know if these faults are covered under warranty? I've read through the Ts&Cs of their Warranty but it doesn't specifically exempt the faults they've mentioned from being covered under warranty. This is my first time owning a car, so I am clueless when it comes to this stuff and don't want to pay for something I shouldn't have to. Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!

Hi I've just had my Audi A5 into workshop to checkout the wear on my drivers seat. The car was bought new in November 2012, and has done 18000 miles. I am informed that it is not covered by warranty, as it's normal wear and tear getting in and out of the car. This is my fourth Audi, travelling over 200,000 miles in total, and this is the first time I have had any problem with the seats. I would expect the seats of a £30,000 car to have better quality seats than this. I love Audi, but will be seriously looking at their competitors for my next car.

Hi All, I am new to posting I usually just lurk and soak up knowledge from others... but today I am so dissapointed about my latest Audi A3 from The Carshop in Swindon I need reassurance I am still safe to drive it. I bought my A3 as a returning customer to Carshop, I had a 2009 Audi in grey previously from them which I PX'd for a 2010 in Red. It is a lovely car just like my 2009 model but has 6 gears instead of 5. It has jumped out of gear on but only on seven or so occasions and only in low gears probably 1st pulling away or 2nd turning right over the past 3 months. I assumed initially it was my inexperience of having 6 instead of 5 gears but as it continued to randomly pop out of gear into the second month of owning it, and when I actually saw the gear knob jump from the corner of my eye I reported it to Carshop within their 3 month warranty period. My problem is that it will not replicate the fault to order and they have 'looked' at it twice now and say it is afe to drive and no apparant fault. I am not happy and despite them saying wait till it develops a more serious fault we cannot do anything. I have also had my time wasted driving miles from Abingdon to Swindon twice now to have them look at it. I did ring and ask a gearbox mechanic his advice and he said it was most probably something inside the gearbox and looking at it externally would not show anything. I have complained to them but this is their response.car shop reply Miss Woodward.doc
